The Changes in the Piano Aesthetics
Jurčík, Vlastimil ; Krajný, Boris (advisor) ; Langer, Miroslav (referee)
The dissertation deals with the relation between the aesthetics and the art of piano performance. Specifically, major pitfalls of the piano compositions' interpretation are demonstrated, in order to delegate its relevant, aesthetical nature. The thesis is outlined by examination of the fundamental principles of aesthetics, serving also as an essential background for understanding the concepts brought in consequent chapters. A survey of the piano performance aesthetics approaces follows, divided into three intrinsic frameworks represented by an artist, a teacher and a student. Naturally, in their distinct capacities, they are dealing with the same issues. Nevertheless, they mostly take in a concept which is rather different from one to another. Understanding of these differences and principles specific for each particular group may assist greatly in their mutual communication. Therefore, the final chapter is devoted to communication in its complexity. All distinct frameworks are mutually coexisting and interacting, while preserving the art, a vital part of a man.
