Therapeutic rehabilitation in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis

The juvenile idiopathic arthritis disease (JIA) is the most common chronic rheumatic disease in childhood and a significant cause of acquired disability in children and adolescents. Patients suffer from acute and chronic pain, reduced mobility, and stiffness in the joints, which leads to a limitation in physical activity. The bachelor thesis includes the latest information about JIA in connection with therapeutic rehabilitation- physiotherapy. It deals with the effect of the disease on the function of the musculoskeletal system, and the ways in which therapeutic rehabilitation can effect already developed disorders. The thesis consists of two sections. The first part is theoretical and includes information from the literature, with focus on information that has been published in Czech and foreign literature over the last 10 years. The second part is devoted to case report of a patient with JIA, including an examination, a course of rehabilitation and its effects on overall health. In the therapy there were used questionnaires about physical activity, such as C-HAQ, methods based on developmental kinesiology or kinesiotaping.
