Šlosarová, Petra ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Lupač, Petr (referee)
This thesis is focused on the sociology of music, precisely on the sociological view of the folk music genre. Further, it analyses the following: who are the participants on the interpreters and listeners side, and what are the social aspects of this type of music. Also, I will explain how this music is portrayed in our medias, content of the lyrics and where it can be heard today. Folk music as such is derived from several different sources and in this work I will introduce and analyse each of them separately. The lyrics of the songs reflect social influence of the totalitarian rule. Due to this aspekt the folk music genre became even more popular. Later on, we will explore how this music has developed different trends with the approach of the modern times. As one of the re search techniques used were personal opinions of folk musicians where they answered questionnaires and also provided interviews. The questions are summarised throughout the thesis and the interviews are presented in the apendix. Further method used was the survey conducted during the Mohelnicky dostavnik music festival which took place in August 2009. Respondents answered a questionnaire and marked answers by choice which was later analysed with statistical programme SPSS for Windows 15.0 and presented in this work.
