The evaluation of quality of life by data envelopment analysis models

This bachelor thesis describes basic models of data envelopment analysis and focuses on their application for the evaluation of quality of life in the regions of the Czech Republic. The homogeneous decision-making units are set to be the individual districts. The first part of the thesis describes the essence of data envelopment analysis and specific models determining efficiency and super efficiency. The second part contains some characteristics of the concept of quality of life from different points of view and there are listed indicators for measuring the quality of life. The aim is to analyze the effectiveness of districts, according to selected economic and non-economic measurable characteristics of quality of life. Comparing districts according to their effectiveness can identify their weaknesses and factors limiting regional development.
