Restoration of the Renaissance Town Hall in Hostěradice
Kuncová, Daniela ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the restoration of the Renaissance town hall in Hostěradice. The documentation is based on an architectural study processed within the subject BGA036 Restoration of Monuments. The town hall is located in the centre of the square of Hostěradice. It is its dominant feature. It is a very old renaissance building. The town hall is surrounded by a road on the south and west side. The rest of the building is located in the park, which is also subject to restoration. It is a two-storey building with a gable roof. On the north side, the town hall is connected to a newer building. The town hall is currently not in use. The Renaissance town hall probably consists of two Gothic houses, which were later combined into one. The town hall dates back to the 16th century. At the beginning of the 17th century the town hall burnt down as a result of an attack by Swedish troops. At the beginning of the 19th century a granary was built here. Later, a cinema hall was built here, and at the end of the 20th century a bathroom was added. In recent years, the town hall has not been used, but its surroundings have been renovated. The whole of the Town Hall and its current additions will not be significantly affected. The later additions will also be retained, creating a varied spectacle in the courtyard. A lift and spiral staircase is proposed for the interior of the Town Hall. In the northern part of the redeveloped site, an extension in the form of classical houses with gabled roofs is proposed, here there will be space for services and a doctor's flat. The whole development will retain a classic village character.
Restoration of the former fast in Hodíškov
Hron, Tomáš ; Špiller, Martin (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is a proposal for the restoration of the former fast house with its farm part in Hodíškov. The project is based on the subject BGA032 – Architectural Studio 4 - Restoration of Monuments. The first mention of the fast house comes from reports in the town registers from 1462 and 1483. However, in these years the inn was already standing. The origins of the tavern are not clearly known. The actual establishment of the fast is assumed to have taken place around 1417, when a significant event took place in the village, namely the settlement of a dispute at Hodíškov between the abbot of Žďár, Jan, and Čeněk of Lipý, the lord of Nové Město. Between 1813 and 1945, the Linsbauer family owned the Hodíškov fast, which contributed to the elevation of the village and the region. They adapted the farmhouse and the yard to the present-day appearance of a chateau. In the period 1850-1866 the former building was rebuilt and adapted to its present form, together with the addition of an outbuilding. At the same time, the building represents several functions, where 1PP serves as a pub, 1NP as a social space with a clubhouse, kitchen and sanitary facilities. In 2NP there are starter flats and the attic space is not used at the same time. The utility area serves as a garage for farm vehicles. The deck space is also unused here. The municipality has an idea of using the building for starter flats. However, this solution is contrary to the planning documentation. The new use of the building will be in line with the planning documentation, will bring the building back to life and will contribute to the development of the village. It is an investment project, with the function of a hotel resort with temporary housing, wellness, restaurant facilities and a traditional pub for the residents of the village. In addition to the historic building, the project envisages a new building in the farmyard, which will unify the visual character of the farmyard. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to modify the object so that its full potential is used. At the same time, the historical form of the building and the genius loci of the whole plot should be preserved. The building will be treated as a historically valuable and listed building.
The puppet theater building in the center of Opava
Solmošiová, Sára ; Štěpán, Marek (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
The building of the theater is not currently a stable structure; it changes based on current demands. From the beginning, I have worked with the idea of a new space for today's theater scene, not only for the specifics of puppet theater. The intention of the design is to create a space for theater professionals according to their needs, while not neglecting the aesthetics of visual and architectural requirements beyond the lapidary construction. Verticality allows for an efficient workflow. The mass of the theater building stemmed from the design of the performance space.
Commercial centre Miris garden
Dračka, Jakub ; Landa, Karel (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of the Miris Garden Commercial Centre within a holiday resort, which is also to include a hotel, marina and countless apartment villas, which are not part of the design. The property is located at the foot of the Velebit Mountains, near the Paklenica National Park and the village of Starigrad-Paklenica in Zadar County, Croatia. The assignment is based on an urbanistically nonsensical concept, namely the developer's intention to build a seasonal holiday resort located almost in the bosom of nature, in addition to a scale far exceeding the aforementioned village, the nearest settlement in the area. The bachelor's thesis was preceded by a studio project, which was, however, completely reworked after long deliberations and a struggle with one's own conscience, but the original intention remained – to hide the undesirable building in the local landscape under a layer of soil and to show as little of it as possible. The building is conceived as a small village, a cluster of small houses concentrated in one long street, which is, however, quite rugged and thus creates several nooks and small streets along its length. This street opens out towards the Velebit Mountains and partly towards the Adriatic Sea. While the front, and the only visible façade, is articulated, the others are hidden underneath the ground level. A longitudinal service and supply corridor runs through the building, separating the shops and restaurants from their back-of-house, warehouses and process rooms. There is an underground garage under the northeastern part of the building. The roof of the building is green, planted with fruit trees and sloping. The forecourt of the building is also planted with trees, the trees provide shade and shelter for birds and bees. The shell of the building is made of rammed concrete, the layers of which visually relate to the surrounding landscape of limestone. There is no lift in the building. The shops are designed in a minimalist way to maximise the use of outdoor space and to take account of seasonal use. Lighting and ventilation is provided by chimneys, thus transforming the original function of the chimneys according to current needs and requirements.
Advanced tool for generating modern Slow DoS attacks
Hrůza, Tomáš ; Člupek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Sikora, Marek (advisor)
In today’s world, cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Those threats include SDoS (Slow Denial of Service) and SDDoS (Slow Distributed Denial of Service) attacks, which employ advanced methods to disrupt normal service operations. These attacks are particularly difficult to detect and are effective because they simulate the behavior of legitimate users with slow internet connections. The topic of SDoS attacks is relatively new and not thoroughly documented. To respond to potentially newly devel- oped attacks, it is necessary to understand the principles of currently known attacks and have the practical capability to create them in order to develop effective countermeasures in the future. This thesis focuses on the development of an advanced tool for generating modern SDoS attacks. The main contribution of this work is the enhancement of the generator to create distributed attacks, the creation of an intuitive interface, and more options for monitoring the progress of individual attacks. The theoretical part introduces the topic of internet connection establishment and explains the properties of TCP and IP protocols in detail. It then clarifies the theory of secure communication over the internet using the HTTPS protocol and provides a comparison of currently used web servers. The final theoretical section addresses the topic of denial of service, discussing some types of currently known SDoS attacks, the tools that generate these attacks, and their shortcomings. Next chapter details the implementation of functionalities, which includes performance enhancements of the tool through the use of multiple processes. The developed tool features Slow Read, Slow Next, and Slow Drop attacks, as well as the ability to combine these attacks. This is followed by a description of how a local network of virtual machines was created for the purpose of testing the implemented tool. The final chapter presents the results and effectiveness of the tool in conducting SDDoS attacks against Apache and NGINX web servers in a local network.
The puppet theater building in the center of Opava
Bradávka, Ondřej ; Palacký, Ivan (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
The thesis deals with the construction of a new theatre for the amateur puppet theatre scene in the centre of Opava, in direct connection with the site of the existing historical building of the Silesian Theatre established by the city. The aim is not only to meet the predefined requirements for the theatre operation based on the planned capacity and context of the city centre, but to decide on the concept of the operation in this context independently and to determine the character of the premises and the possibilities of the operation in the current conditions of sustainability, evaluation of the current and future impact of the development of theatre technology and the development of performing arts as a whole.
Autocentrum Volkswagen Group
Bigas, Alexandr ; Kotek, Jakub (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the creation of the required drawing documentation for the DSP and DPS of the new building of the Volkswagen Group Autocentre. The work is based on the requirements of the assignment, which was submitted in the second year in the studio of industrial constructions. The work consists of an assignment, drawings, text documents, architectural study, cadastral situation and others. The addressed area is part of the cadastral territory of Komárov. The building plot is bordered in the eastern part by Hněvkovského street and in the southern part by Sokolova street. The terrain of the plot is mainly flat, on the borders with the mentioned streets it sharply approaches their level. The land is not currently being used in any way. The object is a building that is designed to enable the operation of passenger cars due to its function. The car center is made up of parts such as a showroom, service and sanitary facilities. Due to the different operation of these parts, the individual functions were physically separated. The color and material solution was chosen with regard to the technical nature of the building. In terms of layout, the object is conceptually divided into three units. The showroom includes the sale of new cars, the sale of spare parts, the provision of advice and the operation of the administrative department on the second floor. The whole service includes all workplaces dealing with repairs, washing, painting, storage and other operations. These separate operations are connected by a sanitary facility, which contains sanitary facilities for employees and customers.
Prevention of catheter infections in patients in the need of critical care
SVOBODOVÁ, Alžběta
Current status: The term sepsis refers to a systemic inflammatory response to the presence of an infection. The highest mortality rate associated with bloodstream infection is linked to severe septic shock. The most commonly used invasive bloodstream inputs include peripheral and central venous catheter, arterial catheter also included are PICC and Midline catheter an alternative method of securing the venous system in intraosseous entry. The aim of this study was to describe the spectrum of nursing practices that minimize the risk of catheter infections related catheter infections and to evaluate the skills of nurses in the area of vascular access care. Methodics: Qualitative research methods using semi-structured interviews and participant observation were employed for data collection. The research was conducted in selected hospitals of the Vysočina Region and the South Bohemia Region. It was a deliberate selection. Nurses working in intensive care units (i.e. anesthesiology and resuscitation departmen and unit critical care) were approached. Covert observation was conducted to ascertain compliance with nursing standards and uncover errors in the care of invasive vascular access. The size of the research sample was determined by theoretical data saturation. Results: The survey shows that the interviewed general nurses have sufficient knowledge in the field of catheter infections to reduce their incidence. Participant observation, specifically peripheral venous cannula insertion, revealed that nurses do not check the expiration of the necessary equipment for this procedure. Furthermore, there was a lack of hygiene and epidemiological precautions and disposal of the needle from the cannula in the sharps box. There was evidence of not using a sterile table but only sterile instruments, improper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment when treating a central venous catheter. Conclusion: The outcome of this diploma thesis is a set of recommendations for non medical healthcare personnel.
Acute postoperative complications in surgical intensive care units
HLOBILKOVÁ, Magda
The master's thesis addresses the issue of acute postoperative complications in the conditions of surgical intensive care units from the perspective of a nurse. The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical sections. The theoretical section focuses on the issues of surgery, intensive care units, and acute postoperative complications. The empirical section includes the research's objectives, methodology, and results. Three objectives were set to elaborate on the master's thesis. First objective: To determine the relationship between the length of practice, the highest level of education attained, and nurses'orientation on the issue of acute postoperative complications. Second objective: To determine nurses' interest in education regarding acute postoperative complications. Third objective : To map the most common acute postoperative complications in surgical intensive care units. The research part of the master's thesis is addressed through a combined research approach involving nurses from surgical intensive care units with different lengths of practice and the highest levels of education attained. The research was conducted in four South Moravian and Zlín hospitals. The quantitative part of the research was carried out through non-standardized questionnaire surveys. The research sample consisted of 138 respondents. The qualitative part was conducted through semi-structured interviews with 10 nurses. Several conclusions can be drawn from the research that was conducted. A statistically significant relationship was observed between nurses' orientation on the issue of acute postoperative complications, length of practice, and the highest level of education attained. With increasing length of practice, nurses' orientation also increases, as does the level of highest education attained. Participating nurses show interest in education on the issue, which the employer does not sufficiently compensate. The most common acute postoperative complications in surgical intensive care units, from the nurses' perspective, are pain and acute bleeding. The output of the diploma thesis is a proposal for the content of a seminar to increase nurses'orientation in specific acute postoperative complications.
Case management and social work with single parents
HRONOVÁ, Veronika
This thesis focuses on case management and social work with single parents. Its aim is to describe the utilization of the case management method (or its elements) in working with single parents. To obtain answers, the following research questions were formulated: "How is the Case management method practically implemented within services collaborating with single parents?", "What are the benefits of using this method (or its elements) in working with single parents?", and "What barriers exist to the utilization of case management in working with single parents?" The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical, or research, parts. The theoretical part defines the significance and history of family, single parenthood, its needs, and forms. In the second part of the theory, I focus on the significance and content of case management, its history, classification, and utilization. For the practical part, the method of interviewing was selected as part of qualitative research, using a semi-structured interview technique. A total of 15 interviews were conducted with professionals from organizations working with families, single parents in the Central Bohemian Region, or directly in the position of a case manager within the Czech Republic. In conclusion, the results of the research can be summarized and the research question "How is the case management method implemented in practice within the services cooperating with single parents" can be answered based on interviews with communication partners in such a way that the case management method is still not widely known and the job position of a case manager it is not common in services working with families and single parents. Those workers who know the method use it most often when evaluating and mapping the client's situation, when coordinating support and during case conferences. The workers see profit, but also on the client's side, who can use an individual approach and "tailor-made" help, according to them, he also has the option of choosing help and is supported in taking responsibility for his life, which, among other things, limits the emergence of the client's dependence on support or worker. Regarding Research Question 2 - How is the use of this method (or its elements) beneficial in working with single parents? It follows from the statements of the workers that those workers who are familiar with the method perceive it as beneficial for their work, for several reasons. One of the main reasons is to reduce the burden of deciding on the procedure for solving the client's situation, since the solution to the situation is sought with the active contribution of the client and collaborating organizations. This is related to another benefit perceived by communication partners, namely the reduction of the risk of errors. Another benefit, according to communication partners, is the establishment of close cooperation with support institutions in the region and the creation of a support network. Communication partners also perceive the feeling of more meaningful work with a greater and longer-term effect on the client's side as a bonus. From the communication partners' answers to Question 3 - What prevents the use of case management when working with single parents? it turned out that the expansion of case management is hindered by a lack of time for individual work with the client caused by an excess of other work and a lack of knowledge and information about the possibilities of use and benefits.
