Analog studio compressor with adustable band-pass filter
Ledvina, Matej ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (referee) ; Šotner, Roman (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of a dynamic range compressor complemented by an adjustable band pass filter. This device features wider usability than a standard dynamic compressor while simultaniously being able to replace specialized ones. Presented solution utilizes voltage controlled filters of KHN topology to limit the bandwidth of either the processed signal or the controling signal and integrated voltage controled amplifiers for adjustment of dynamics. The design requirements are verified by computer simulation.
Analog Modular Synthesizer
Klecl, Martin ; Urban, Ondřej (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis explores the topic of analog modular synthesizers and the circuit designs used in these devices. The introduction of the theoretical part deals with the basic terminology of modular synthesizers and their history and classification. The thesis also presents and characterizes the methods of producing sound focusing on additive, subtractive and modulation synthesis. From the fundamental components of a subtractive synthesizer, the thesis describes a voltage controlled filter, voltage controlled oscillator, low frequency oscillator and voltage controlled amplifier. The practical part of the thesis concerns design and construction of these components into a single universal Eurorack format module. The results of the thesis comprise measurements of the parameters of each of the basic blocks of the synthesizer module.
Analysis, features and applications of available voltage mode multipliers
Kopeček, Pavel ; Koton, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šotner, Roman (advisor)
This work deals with the analog multipliers, mainly of the voltage multipliers. Also the modifications of current output will appear here. The first part is devoted to a choice several multipliers and a description of their functions, the possible involvement and introduction of the most important catalog values. The next section deals with the simple application that contains at least one of the multipliers. Next was the implementation of selected applications and measure their actual performance parameters. Results are then compared with computer simulations. As final step is done of tolerance and sensitivity analysis of simulated configurations of circuits.
Design and realization of the vocal encoder for audio electronics
Milota, Vojtěch ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deals with the design of the vocal encoder, a device used for regressive synthesis of a speech signal using an external carrier signal. Work consists of the block chart, its breakdown and following design of all partial circuit solutions, including simulations in the software environment, followed by design of the printed circuit board and realisation of a prototype of the vocal encoder, followed by experimental measurement of its properties.
Behavioral models of active elements with possibility of independent multi-parameter control
Novotný, Jakub ; Hruboš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šotner, Roman (advisor)
This thesis is focused on behavioral modelling of active elements with independent multi-parameter electronic control using comercially available components. In a first part of the thesis, CVDIBA, CVDOBA, CVCC and OC elements are discussed. The functionality is verified by simulations using OrCAD PSpice. Used components are diamond transistor OPA860, variable gain amplifier LMH6505, differencing amplifier AD830, low distortion differential driver AD8138, current conveyor EL2082 and current mode four quadrant multiplier EL4083. Four active elements are further built on PCB and measured. Some applications like low pass filter, high pass filter, all pass filter and reconfigurable filter.
