The perception of reality and fantasy in the fairytale world of the preschool child
HOKROVÁ, Lucie
This bachelor thesis focuses on the perception of reality and fantasy in fairy tales and fantastic stories of pre-school child. Generally, the thesis focuses on the differences that a child perceives in these areas. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare how a pre-school child perceives reality and fantasy in classical magic fairy tales and in contemporary sci-fi stories for children. My interest was to find out whether children perceive science fiction stories in a similar way as magic fairy tales or if they connect them with reality. This bachelor thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the development of mental functions in case of pre- school child with an emphasis on imagination, fantasy and perception of reality. In the practical part, I presented two illustrations to the children. The first one form the classical magic fairy tale of Princ Bajaja and the second one from the sci-fi story called Spiderman, and then I compared them to see how much children differentiate between reality and fiction in both cases.
