The Continuing Teacher Education in Moravskoslezský region - the Possibility of Developing Competencies needed to perform Elementary School Teacher Profession

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the content focus of elementary schools teacher professional development of in the Moravian-Silesian Region - whether the offer of courses subjectively enabled the primary school teachers to develop competencies necessary for their profession. These competencies will be defined according to the National System of Occupation (Národní soustava povolání). The thesis will outline the history of teacher professional development in the Czech Republic and also the current trends will be brought closer to this area. The Regional Education and Information Center of the Moravian-Silesian Region (KVIC) will be presented. It is the largest organizer of courses related to the teacher professional development in this region. The offer of the courses, accredited by the Ministry of Education and designed to elementary school teachers, will be classified and summarized according to the data obtained from the KVIC organization. Then a comparison of the content of the courses and competencies required in the NSP will be carried out - whether the organized courses allow to develop the competencies of the primary school teachers set up in the NSP.
