MIDI to DMX signal converter for synchronizing stage lighting with live music
Hajdúch, Patrik ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Sikora, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on designing a device for converting MIDI signals to DMX signals. The converter runs on the ATmega328P microprocessor with the Arduino bootloader and is capable of converting Note On, Note Off, and Control Change messages into changes in the DMX output signal. For the conversion, a map consisting of three profiles is used, which is editable using a desktop app and saved on an external EEPROM. This allows the converter to be used universally with many different DMX systems. The device is housed in an enclosure with dimensions that allow it to be stored within a single rack unit. The converter allows for fully automatic control of stage lighting and other stage equipment in synchronization with music and creating complex scenes using the widely used MIDI protocol.
DMX 512 protocol analyzer for personal computer
Brouček, Vilém ; Juráň, Radovan (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis consists of designing and assembling an USB–DMX512 analyzer. It contains detailed information about the protocol itself, particularly the structure of the signal and its physical layer. It discusses options for analyzing the signal, chooses an appropriate microcontroller unit and provides a draft of a hardware for the controler. The thesis describes the assembled analyzer, explains its functions, the selection of components, and the principles of PCB design. It also explains the usage of the device and its potential future upgrades. The thesis provides a description of the code for the STM32 microcontroller and the custom-made libraries used for the DMX512 packet analysis and creation. It then familiarizes the reader with the code of the personal computer application, the reasons for choosing C# as the main programming language, and explains the structure of the object-oriented code, along with the custom-made libraries for DMX512 packet generation and analysis of the received data. The result of the thesis is a working DMX512 analyzer, which can receive and transmit the signal, display transmitted data, and connect to a PC via the developed software.
Creation of Knowledge Database for Lighting Technology with the Possibility of Expert Query Processing
Krbal, Michal ; Sokanský, Karel (referee) ; Gašparovský, Dionýz (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This presented thesis is focused on the complex description of creation the database system for the lighting. The important static and dynamic parameters of light sources and luminaires are listed in the first part of thesis. These parameters are complemented by the measured values and their relationships. The next chapters of thesis are focused to description of obtained parameters, structural design, historical and expected development of individual representatives of light sources. In the following sections are described current state of used data formats of luminaires and the possibilities for describing of light sources. The database systems are created as a result of this thesis. These databases are used for collecting, sorting, searching and sophisticate comparison of the parameters of light sources and luminaires.
Ecology in lighting
Špidlík, Jan ; Štěpánek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Krbal, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on introduction to ecology in lighting technology. There are briefly described individual light sources and chemical substance used in the manufacture of components. For clarity is amount of toxic mercury in each light source displayed in well-arranged picture. Thesis is also focused on the influence of lighting technology in the environment and impact on the ecosystem. Closer look is made upon influence of mercury on environment and human life and also overall influence of mining metals and its devastating consequences for ecosystem. This work also deals with post processing of light sources by collective systems.
Computer interface for intelligent light control via DMX-512
Fučík, Stanislav ; Hrubý, Lukáš (referee) ; Musil, Tomáš (advisor)
Thisbachelor’sthesisdealswithacreationofagraphicalinterfaceforthecontroloflight devices using DMX512 protocol. The graphical interface is implemented as a web application (frontend), that communicates through API with a console application (a backend). The backend realizes direct communication with lighting devices.
Design and construction of an interactive light sources panel
Žák, Martin ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Škoda, Jan (advisor)
This semestral thesis deals with design and construction of the interactive light sources board and measurement of various parameters of those light sources. Using the given requirements, a solution is worked out (construction materials, behaviour, design, wiring etc. are given). Based on this, the interactive board was also constructed and put into operation. The thesis is also focused on the given light sources themselves (incandescent light bulbs, halogen lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, fluorescent tubes and LED lamps) and their measurement results are presented.
Illumination with respect to biological functions
Němec, Jiří ; Štěpánek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
The paper summarizes the basic light-technical parameters, the principles of visual and non-visual photoreceptions and the effects of light on the organism. Several chapters focus on the mechanism by which light affects hormone levels and the circadian rhytm of the organism. In relation to the lighting system, the impact of electromagnetic radiation, associated with the controls, on the body is also considered. Briefly described are systems based on smart LED light sources or smart switches. The result of the thesis is to choose the solution that best suits the requirements of the contracting authority.
Measurement of photometric parameters of light sources for interactive panel
Vágner, Richard ; Štěpánek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Škoda, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with measurment of various photometric parameters of light sources designated for interactive board located in the Laboratory of Light VUT FEKT. There is described procedure and processing of photometric and electrical parameters of light sources (incandescent light bulbs, halogen lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, fluorescent tubes and LED lamps). Also there is presented processing method of designing cards that will contain mentioned parameters.
