Elimination of nanoplastics by cavitation and advanced oxidation processes
Kluknavská, Júlia ; Burda, Radim (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
Táto práca sa zaoberá znečistením životného prostredia mikro a nanoplastami a ich možnou likvidáciou. Práca pozostáva z rešeršnej a experimentálnej časti.
Optimization of distribution of active particles generated by low temperature plasma on biopolymer surfaces
Krupičková, Lucie ; Kozáková, Zdenka (referee) ; Krčma, František (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the optimization of the distribution of active particles (RONS), generated by the low temperature plasma, on the biopolymer surfaces. The theoretical part characterizes plasma and its active particles. Furthermore, this chapter summarizes its applications in medicine and food industry, also a review of different skin models is listed here. The last section is focused on the skin anatomy and the characterization of selected microorganisms C. glabrata, E. coli and S. epidermidis. In the experimental part, selected biopolymers with specific dyes for detection of active particles were prepared. Furthermore biopolymers were spot treated under different conditions leading to color changes in all biopolymers. This test confirmed a presence of active particles in the plasma. After that, the optimal parameters for active particles distribution over the entire surface were found. Also an experiment, which allowed the UV light to pass through but prohibited the passage of active particles, was made. In this experiment, no color change was noticed, which means, that the reaction of active particles with the colored biopolymer is responsible for the color change. The optimized parameters were used for treatment of agar plates with monoculture of C. glabrata, E. coli, S. epidermidis and with mixed culture C. glabrata + E. coli. Two different plasma torches were used – unipolar microwave discharge torch and surface wave microwave discharge jet. Treated samples were photographed after incubation. Software Aurora then calculated the surface area which was covered by the microbial culture. Based on the data, the microbial reducion was evaluated in comparison with untreated samples. The unipolar microwave discharge torch achieved higher efficiency than the surface wave microwave discharge jet, for all tested microorganisms.
Vliv plazmového výboje na smáčivost semen vybraných kulturních plodin
PIHERA, Pavel
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of atmospheric (Gliding arc) and low-pressure microwave plasma discharge on the surface of common wheat (triticum aestivum), annual sunflower (helianthus annuus), and pea (pisum sativum) and how the use of plasma discharge affects the ability of water to adhere to the seed surface. In this paper, the wettability of seeds before and after the use of plasma discharge is measured. The wettability is measured according to the angle of the drop applied to the measured seed.

Stanovení optimálních parametrů pro ošetření kmínu plazmovým výbojem
ROUHA, Pavel
The focus of this bachelor thesis is on the use of plasma discharges in agriculture, more specifically in the treating of seeds of caraway using low-pressure plasma equipment Plasonic AR-550-M. The theoretical section is made up of two parts. The first one is a literary research on the caraway, its history and present, the history of its growing in the Czech Republic and the botanical and biological characteristics of this plant. The second part is devoted to plasma, its principles, types of plasma discharges and its use. The practical section contains a description of plasma equipment Plasonic AR-550-M and a brief instruction manual. Furthermore, there is a methodology of realization of measurements and its results that explain the effect of the plasma discharge on caraway seeds.
Surface roughness measurement
KEHLER, Roman
This thesis deals with surface roughness measurement of polyethylene plates before and after plasma discharge application by Hommel-Tester T2000 contact measurement device. The first section describes basic terms, units and definitions, types of devices and tools used for surface roughness measurement. The next section of thesis is focused on practical measurement of given samples and their surfaces structure evaluation.
Optimization of deposition parameters in order to create a photocatalytic titanium oxide films produced by PECVD
PEKÁREK, Michal
This thesis presents Photocatalytic TiOx layers created by own PECVD reactor assembled in the building of Department of Applied Physics and Technics. Parameters of depositions were optimalized as well as the PECVD reactor itself. Final layers are compared to layers made by Degussa P25. As a result based on the included measurements, this thesis tries to answer the question whether PECVD is the suitable method for depositions of photocatalytic layers.
Plasma modification of powder materials
ČERNÝ, Pavel
Thesis is focused on plasma modification of materials. The work has the character of a search of available literature, especially the papers presented in impacted journals. The aim is to provide a broader overview of the subject. The first section describes the most commonly modified powdered materials. The second part is focused on the plasma modification, the reasons for its use, capabilities and benefits respectively and disadvantages of these processes. The following sections are devoted to plasma discharges, plasma reactors, aspects of plasma modification and companies engaged in production, or modification of powders. Each chapter is intended to provide an overview of the modified powder materials, processes within the plasma discharges, construction and use of plasma reactors, plasma modification of aspects and the market situation in the context of powdered materials and companies dealing with the plasma modification.
