The AmBe Laboratory Neutron Source Field Determination Using Experimental Stend
Jelínek, Martin ; Šťastný, Ondřej (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This master’s thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the conventional neutron sources from the perspective of reactions which lead to the production of neutrons, advantages, disadvantages, properties and their possible utilization. In the relation to the assembly of the laboratory neutron source and the unique experimental stand “Candle” basic methods of the neutron field analysis are outlined and two of them, the neutron activation analysis and the calculation using the MCNP software code are discussed in depth to apply and compare these methods. The experimental part deals with the realization of neutron activation analysis from its design itself, through gamma spectrometry to the cadmium ratio calculation. In compliance with the measurements, a calculation with MCNP code was run and both methods were evaluated and compared. The computation is complemented with the analysis of radiation situation on the borders of the supervised area, which is compared to the legal limit.
Design of Accelerator for Oncological Therapy
Zbořil, Jan ; Siebert, Petr (referee) ; John, David (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is the design of linear accelerator for oncology treatment. The design focuses on the improvement of the aesthethical side of the accelator, but also comes up with inventional solutions how to improve the radiation treatment of oncology patients to higher the chances of successful treatment of cancer.
Design of a photovoltaic power plant for a family house near Olomouc
Juřička, Dušan ; Maule, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the introduction to the components of a photovoltaic system and the creation of a specific photovoltaic system installed in a family house located north of Olomouc. The system is designed to meet the requirements of a family of four. Based on simulations and current market prices, the profitability of the entire system is evaluated. The financial return of the project and the possibility of a subsidy from the state are also considered. In addition, the future possibility of purchasing an electric car is included and the potential impact on the flow of energy within the internal power grid is simulated.
Lightweight cryptography for embedded devices
Nekuža, Karel ; Fujdiak, Radek (referee) ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on lightweight cryptography. The main focus is on block ciphers PRESENT and LBLOCK and hash function PHOTON. The theoretical basis of cryptographic primitives are presented with devices which are commonly used for them, cryptanalysis attacks and their success rate. The primitives are implemented on microcontroller separately and in cryptographic protocol. There was measured time and usage of memories of the implementations. The results were used for comparison of ciphers, hash function and selection of two versions of the protocol for testing. Each version was tested and compared to the other.
Quantum key distribution test polygon
Širjov, Jakub ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Látal, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this masters thesis is to explain quantum key distribution (QKD) and principle of signal transmission in the quantum channel. Further this thesis complains commercial distributors of QKD technologies and their individual appliances. Practical part of the thesis is separated to 3 parts. First part handles transmission of quantum keys in QKDNetsim simulator. Second part takes care of design and creation of a test polygon that allows for testing of many optical network configurations with quantum signal and normal data traffic being transmitted in a single fiber. Multiple simulations of use of various filter types to supress the signal noise in the program VPIphotonics and tested by QKDNetsim are shown in the last part of this thesis.
Short Multiplayer Minigames
Woska, Adam ; Bambušek, Daniel (referee) ; Chlubna, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a game demo that contains short mini multiplayer games. Unity 3D and Photon Engine were used to implement the demo. The demo consists of three separate mini games. Another content of this work is the research and analysis of games of similar genre. The design of the application and its implementation is also described in this thesis. The result of the work was then tested by real users.
Simulation of solar cells using in electrocars
Obadal, Petr ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the question of the production of electric energy in electromobiles by the means of photovoltaic cells and its using. The thesis presents the model of photovoltaic system composed of the three photovoltaic fields incorporated in the electromobile model and it considers its maximum usable surface and efficiency. The thesis also includes the calculations concerning the charging time of accumulator, the amount of energy gained from photovoltaic fields – comparison of practical energy gain, the electric parameters in general and the overall performance of electromobile model. The aim of the thesis was to design an electromobile model which would serve as a model for actual-sized electromobiles using the renewable source of electric energy.

Václav Vrba, CSc. (Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic) Abstract: The subject of this thesis is physics connected to quarkonia and their studies at the ATLAS detector situated at LHC in CERN, Geneva. In this thesis, following topics are cov- ered: ATLAS detector, history of physics connected to quarkonia, production mechanisms of quarkonia, software used at CERN for data analysis and cross-section measurement of J/Psi + photon continuum. The analysis was done on behalf of the B-physics working group at ATLAS. Keywords: CERN, LHC, ATLAS, B-fyzika, quarkonia
Testing Polygon For Quantum Key Distribution
Širjov, Jakub
The article explains issues in QKD and their sources. It next describes principle of QKDoperation and its individual parts that are required for its function. Part of the article includes simulationsfrom QKDNetsim and NS-3 that show possibilities of the simulation, that were used to createexemplary simulations for future check of QKD traffic on the test polygon.
