Cuban foreing policy in the context of economic dependency on the USSR: the case of spurring armed revolutions in the third world countries through Tricontinental

Bachelor thesis "Cuban foreign policy in the context of economic dependency on the USSR: The case of spurring armed revolutions in the third world countries through Tricontinental" deals with the problem of Cuban dependency in its foreign policy - particularly in the field of propaganda - before and after the year 1968, when the Cuban leaders were forced, by the circumstances, to rethink their approach in dealing with the Soviet Union after the import of oil on the island was suspended. In the first part, the general goals of the Cuban foreign policy, in the initial period of the new Castro's regime, towards third world countries are described. The emphasis is also on pinpointing the main differences between the Soviet and Cuban foreign policy agendas. In the second part, the focus is on comparing the form and the content of Cuban propaganda (the frequency of mentioning armed struggles) as it was distributed to the public through the magazine Tricontinental, a magazine that served as the main ideological "weapon" of the Cuban propaganda machine (mainly outside of the country).
