Hejnová, Kateřina ; Loneková, Katarína (referee) ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (referee)
The presented thesis deals with psychological demands and specific factors of the adaptation to the oncological diagnosis "cervical cancer." The focus is on quality of life and posstraumatic growth of patients in the phase of disease remission. The theoretical part first introduces specifics of cervical cancer with consideration of patients' experience and then provides the issue of coping with the oncological disease in terms of coping and defense mechanisms. Then it elaborates the psychological adaptation to cancer disease with focus on other aspects linked to society, patients and disease altogether with problems in coping with oncological diagnosis. The theoretical part of the study is concluded with the description of demands and patients' experience in each clinical stage of the disease. The chapter of disease remis;sion is focused on theoretical background of life quality and posttraumatic growth concepts including an overview of tools for quantitative evaluation. The empirical part describes supporting psychological and other aspects, which help women to cope with cervical cancer. It also pays attention to the change of these aspects and needs with regard to clinical stage of the disease (treatment, remission and relapse) and specific demographic data (age, children, size of residence,...

It is also focused on those of supporting aspects, which are appreciated or missed by the patients within the treating team (doctors and other medical staff)....
A multidisciplinary team in the care of woman with the breast cancer
LIŇHOVÁ, Romana
I have chosen the following topic for my thesis "The multidisciplinary team in the care for women suffering from breast cancer" not only due to the topicality of the issue, but mainly because I work in a surgery ward where I take care of women suffering from this disease. It is a sad fact that during my tenure in this department, the number of women with this disease has been increasing and their age has been dropping. Modern diagnostic methods determine the diagnosis and a multidisciplinary team suggests the most suitable and efficient treatment. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of the term 'multidisciplinary team', with its tasks and it also specifies which members of the medical staff belong to the team and what their role is. The theoretical part of the thesis further describes breast tumors, methods of their identification and their treatment, complex nursing care for women suffering from breast cancer and last but not least the importance of prevention. Two objectives were determined within the thesis. The first one was to discover whether a multidisciplinary team is involved in the care for women suffering from oncological breast disease. The other objective was to discover what consequences does the oncological breast disease have on women´s lives in connection with nursing care. Based on these objectives three research questions were identified: How does the multidisciplinary team cooperate in the care for women suffering from breast cancer? What roles does a nurse have within a multidisciplinary team dealing with breast cancer from patients' point of view? What is the most frequent impact of breast cancer on women´s life from the point of view of patients? The thesis was made as a qualitative research. For the purpose of obtaining data, the method of a semi-structured interview was applied. Interviews were recorded in a voice recorder and subsequently converted into writing. The interviews form a significant research base from which categorization and sub-categorization fields are created. The research group comprised eight women in whom breast cancer had been diagnosed and who were hospitalized in the surgery ward in February 2014.
DNA čipy a jejich využití pro molekulární diagnostiku a predikci u onkologických onemocnění
VORÁČKOVÁ, Lucie
Many visible factors produced during carcinogenesis refer to oncological disease, e.g. modified gene's expression or increased number of miRNA. These factors can be diagnosed by analyzing of gene's expression. For this diagnostics, there are used many methods, of whom DNA microarray analysis is the most significant progress in genetic research. A large number of DNA sequences can be detected DNA with microarrays on a single microarray in a relatively short time. This analysis means a positive turnover for the diagnosis and prediction of disease.
Problems in families with oncological patients
SLÁDKOVÁ, Tereza
For my bachelor thesis I have chosen the theme: "Problems in families with oncological patients." I believe that this topic is relevant and it is important to pay attention to it. The aim of this work is to explore the family's problems with a client with an oncological disease. These families get into a very difficult situation due to a serious illness of a family member. I divided my thesis into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes five main chapters. The first chapter presents basic information about tumours. The second and third chapter outline the problems of both a client in the terminal stage and his family. The fourth chapter focuses on the most common benefits for ill clients. The fifth chapter describes oncology care providers available to clients. Here I will focus mainly on hospice facility, which is intended for those clients. The practical part focuses on the basic information about the client and family. Then it focuses on the detection, progression and treatment of the disease and last but not least, on the last days of the client. These data have been processed in the case reports and evaluated in the discussion.
