Christology in the Works of Cardinal Ján Chrysostom Korec This bachelor thesis deals with the christological analysis of the literary work of cardinal John Chrysostom Korec. Christology is a part of dogmatic theology which, through Christological reflection, becomes the source and life of the Christian faith. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and research. The first part deals with the description of the context of the times in which cardinal Korec lived a significant part of his life and which influenced his work. In this part, the thesis presents a brief biography of cardinal Korec, including a short description of his literary works. This section is enriched by a brief overview of his work and the awards that John Ch. Korec received during his lifetime. The second part provides an overview and characterization of the Christological titles used by J. Ch. Korec in his work. Subsequently, the bachelor's thesis focuses on cardinal Korec's conception of the Incarnation and his grasp and interpretation of the mystery of the Messiah. The last part of the Christological analysis is a brief characterization of the theology of the cross and resurrection in Korec's work. The thesis deals with the encyclicals of John Paul II. written between years 1979 and 1990 and with the Christological titles the King, the Prophet and the Priest contained in them. These three titles are described as offices and services. The thesis connects the teaching of the Second Vatican Council and the view of John Paul II. on this issue and Christian practice. It contains an introduction to the issue of the given Christological titles. It provides an introduction to the teaching of the Catholic Church, which is linked to the titles. It also describes in which encyclicals there are mentions of the King, the Prophet and the Priest. Subsequently, these encyclicals are examined individually to provide the best possible understanding of the three titles and their practical impact on life.

This thesis gives an overview of Jesus in the basic sources of Islam, the Qur'an and Sunnah. In a brief biography of Prophet Muhammad, it deals with the influence of Christians in his life. It follows the creation of the Qur'an and mentions some aspects of its doctrine. The thesis selects the Qur'anic verses about Christians and especially those which are related directly or indirectly to Jesus. It analyzes the meaning of the names, which the Qur'an assigns to Jesus. The selected Hadiths, in which some of the names of Jesus appear, are systematized into thematic areas. The thesis observe the role that this Islamic tradition assigns to him. It compares the differences between the view on Jesus in Islam and Christianity. It notes that there are different meanings in both religions under the same sounding names and titles of Jesus. The thesis brings reason why the image of Jesus in Islam is different. It shows whether the person of Jesus can be the object and starting point for interreligious dialogue. In conclusion, it offers the possibilities of inspiration for restoring Christian faith by Muslim Jesus.
