Vietnamese emigration and the socio-cultural integration into the Czech society - Obstacles to the integration of the current generation of Vietnamese into the Czech society
Pham, Anh Thu ; Druláková, Radka (advisor) ; Maslowski, Nicolas (referee)
For a successful integration it is necessary to eliminate its obstacles first. To make it happen, we need to find out what these obstacles for integration are and explain why they emerged. The aim of this thesis is to find all the existing barriers for Vietnamese youth to integrate into the Czech society successfully. The text is divided into two main parts. The first one divides general barriers existing in EU member states into four basic groups: racial and socio-culturally conditioned barriers, emotionally conditioned barriers, obstacles created by media and the state and obstacles of economic origin. The second part builds on the first and focuses exclusively on the obstacles of the current generation of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. Therefore, those basic groups of barriers are further divided according to the situation in the country. In the second part, the current generation of Vietnamese is divided into three categories: descendants of the first generation, self-funding students and young people coming to join their families.
