Support of health in the curriculum of the Nursing College and Secondary Nursing School in Prague 1

The topic of the following thesis is the health promotion included in curriculum of Special Medical High School and Medical High School in Prague 1. The aim of a qualitative research is to find out how the school adopted the possibility of health promotion in its curriculum and other educational documents, what is the life style of the teachers and their particular experience in health promotion during their classes. Three different data collecting techniques were used when doing the research: semi- structured interviews with selected teachers; class observation; analysis of relevant pedagogical documents. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the history and presence of the schools selected, pedagogical documents and also with chosen pedagogical staff. Further it informs about specific school health support projects. The practical part contains final results of qualitative research which shows that the topic of health support is included in many areas of chosen documents. Its following realization depends not only on financial possibilities and capacity of the school but mainly on particular teachers and their responsible approach to this issue within their lessons and lifestyle. In conclusion this school can be considered as a good example...

Knowledge od secondary school pupils in the field of first aid in a selected locality of the South Bohemian region

This diploma thesis was compiled on the topic of first aid. First aid is always actual problem, which needs attention. It is suitable to start with the first aid education at a very young age and throughout the years add more difficult situations first aid in CBRNE substance attack, first aid in extraordinary situations (floods, car accidents with a big number of injured). The aim of the thesis was to find out the knowledge of the pupils in secondary schools about providing the first aid, and subsequent comparation of the results between secondary medical school and other, nonmedical schools. The knowledge of the first aid was found out by means of questionnaires. In this statistical research were involved 400 pupils form 5 secondary schools in the South Bohemian region, including one secondary medical school. The questionnaires were evaluated and processed. To verify the hypotheses, x2 test of a good match was used (to verify the normality) and a t-test was used as well, to verify zero and alternative hypotheses. The pupils of secondary medical school reached in questioning research better results than pupils of nonmedical schools. Therefore it was possible to accept set hypotheses. The secondary schools, which took part in the statistical research, were provided with a feedback. This diploma thesis could serve as a study material, eventually also as a motive for other qualification theses. According to my opinion, a thesis about knowledge of pedagogues about providing the first aid would be beneficial.
Truancy and school attendance rejection at high school

TITLE: Truancy and school attendance rejection at high school ABSTRACT: Risky behavior among adolescents is a serious society-wide phenomenon. In this context was carried the first research of medical high schools in Karlovy Vary region in school year 2007/2008 which was generally focused on all kinds of risky behavior. From this research have come out, besides others, that 30.80 % of students committed truancy. This work is focused on the issue of truancy and school attendance rejection based on the increasing tendency of truancy. The theoretical part defines truancy, its causes, diagnosis, consequences, intervention and legislative of this issue. Truancy and school attendance rejection for pupils in the 1st and 4th grade at Medical High School in Karlovy Vary analysis, evaluation of related factors influencing truancy and school attendance rejection and comparison of the obtained results was the purpose of the research part. The information from own anonymous questionnaires completed by 180 respondents were used in the practical part. Data analysis confirmed high and still growing number of truants among Medical High School in Karlovy Vary. Bachelor thesis deals with the sources of sexual education of a selected secondary medical school. The work is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. The aim of this work is to define and specify the sexual education and its sources, including the family, school, contemporaries and media. The theoretical part describes the content of sexual education and its discussed topics. In the theoretical part uses methods, such as analysis, synthesis and comparison of technical sources, which are in printed and electronic forms. The empirical part is focused on the preferred sources of sexual education of secondary school students and describes the content of individual sources. The data for survey proposes were obtained via questionnaires and the response rate was about one hundred students of a selected secondary medical school. The results of questionnaires were evaluated by simple statistic methods and in conclusion there are summarized results and defined recommendations for pedagogical work resulting from the survey.
Reasons of consumption of narcotic drugs at medical high schools

Taking drugs is not a problem only in the Czech Republic, but it is a worldwide issue. This conduct leads to the disruption of health and life values of an individual and the whole society. Taking drugs affects biological, psychological and social spheres not only at the time when an adolescent leads a risky way of life, but also in the future, when he/she must bear the consequences of his/her behavior. According to prominent authors dealing with the issue of the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances one of the stated reasons is neuro-psychological stress. This type of stress is more evident in students of secondary nursing schools than in other helping professions. The study includes a theoretical section, in which adolescence is characterized, the factors leading to addiction and the most common reasons for taking drugs are described. Individual narcotic and psychotropic substances are characterized in detail and statistical evaluation of their use is given. Stress and stress situations and their impact on drug use are discussed. Mental hygiene and relaxation are also included. In the practical part the objectives are set, the course of my own research and also discussions with the authors from which I drew information are described. Data were collected by means of quantitative research. The method of questioning, the anonymous questionnaire technique was used. On that basis the predetermined hypotheses were verified or falsified. Students were interviewed in the school in the presence of administrators, with exclusion of teachers and others with a similar authority who could affect the validity of collected data. The research objective was to survey the use of addictive drug in secondary nursing schools. Specifically, what narcotic drugs the students use, with what frequency, in what manner and what are the reasons for doing so. The research shows that students of secondary nursing schools are mostly stressed psychologically. These students drink more alcohol, use more tobacco products and drugs than other students. The results of the study can be used in practice, for the purposes of additional research and awareness for the professional and general public.
Motives for Drug Taking at High Schools Students in Jindřichův Hradec

Nowadays Czech young people have more and more experience with addictive substances, particularly with alcohol, nicotine and marihuana. Therefore the author has decided to find out the most frequent motives leading to drugs taking at high schools students. Due to the lack of relevant information for this area the author maps out the situation in the district of Jindřichův Hradec. Statistics concerning the issue of drugs taking are always related to the regions or the whole Czech Republic. The author has carried out quantitative research using the method of questioning and the technique of the anonymous questionnaire. The set was determined by the quote random sample and the quote was the age, sex and type of school. The basic research set consisted of three subsets. Research set A involved students from Gymnasium schools, research set B involved students from other secondary schools and research set C involved students from apprentice training centres. The research showed that the motives for drugs taking are not much different with respect to students from individual schools. According to the secondary school students in Jindřichův Hradec there belong among the most frequent motives longing for unusual experience and the inability to solve their problem or life crisis in a different way than by using the addictive substance. Further there was proved that students of apprentice training centres have more frequent experience with drugs taking than students from secondary school and Gymnasium schools. Contribution of the Bachelor thesis lies in the mapping out secondary schools of the Jindřichův Hradec area with respect to the drug taking issue which was according to the opinions of schools headmasters missing for generating a complex conception of the drug taking issue in the area. The author assumes that making a research particularly in smaller regions could help to solve the drug taking issue generally. The author also recommends more frequent lectures on drug taking issue and excursions to establishments for drug addicts.
