Shanghai organization for cooperation

This thesis is about the development and prospects of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Shanghai Cooperation Organization can play an important role in the development of Asia. There is a possibility that the organization will be able to solve the region's major problems, such as security issues, large differences in the level of economic development of the countries and the issues associated with infrastructure, especially in energy and transport. But it is not clear enough how the further development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will go. The purpose of this work is to understand the current situation within the organization and to analyze the current conditions of the member states for further development. Another objective is to determine the perspective organization based on the analysis. Work will focus on current economic, cultural and military relations between the participating countries.

Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization - organization working in the Central Asia area. First part of this thesis is focused on the history of the organization, the structure and the member states. Security and the influence of the organization on security in Central Asia represent the second part. In the final part the economic cooperation ot the members is depicted.
