Proposal of ultra-high-power beams at the kilojoule iodine laser PALS
Novák, Ondřej ; Divoký, M. ; Böhm, P. ; Smrž, M. ; Turčičová, Hana ; Straka, Petr
The iodine kJ laser PALS is widely used by users. To extend the scope of the experiments, a proposal of new ultra-high-power (UHP) beams was done in detail. The model of the design is based on routine parameters of the laser PALS and on state-of-the-art of the ultra-high-power beams generation. Using the OPCPA technique, we propose two new alternative UHP beams at PALS with powers of 100 TW and 1 PW, respectively, including a pulse compressor and new front-end amplifiers. The amplification chain was simulated using coupled wave equations for optical parametric amplification. Layout of the two new beams in the existing PALS laser hall was also proposed.
Příprava čerpacího svazku pro metodu OPCPA v laboratoři SOFIA
Dostál, Jan ; Kuhnová, Gabriela ; Turčičová, Hana
The OPCPA technique is currently one of the most perspective method of the amplification of ultrashort laser pulses. In our case, the pump beam for the OPCPA process will be realized as 3ω from the hybrid iodine photodissociation laser system SOFIA.

SOFIA is a hybrid laser chain where the laser beam generated in a solid state oscillator is amplified in a gas medium of iodine photodissociation amplifiers.SOFIA project is realized to speed up the modernization of the laser system PALS by the OPCPA method.
