The Household of Maria Theresia of Schwarzenberg in the Middle of the 18th Century
SUCHANOVÁ, Petra
The thesis deals with the household of Maria Theresia of Schwarzenberg, born of Liechtenstein, in the first half of the 18th century. Based on an analysis of a rich set of previously unutilised written sources - especially the written calendar from 1742 to 1744 - the author tried to reconstruct the household of the aforementioned noblewomen. The attention is paid not only to the composition of her court, but also to her religious patronage, which represented one of the highest items in the budget of every nobleman in the early modern society. Furthermore, the reconstruction of the material equipment of the household of Maria Theresia of Schwarzenberg will also be of interest, which reflected her noble and social status. The author likewise focused on the noble amusements.
