Gasoline Particulate Filters

This bachelor thesis deals with gasoline particulate filters for spark ignition power trains and aims to summarize the current state of knowledge and prospects of this issue. The first part of the thesis focuses on gasoline direct injection technology as it is directly responsible for the increased formation of particulate matter, which is also subject of attention, including other pollutants. It also addresses the reason for the need of usage and further development of filters, the principle of operation and design options, including a description of the individual components. The thesis also discusses possible perspectives for the future development of turbocharged petrol engines with regards to meeting emission standards.
