Review Czech Thalia

This bachelor thesis is dealing with periodical Czech Thalia. We are introduced into the importance of Czech Thalia from years 1867 - 1871 for contemporary theatre and culture through the presentation and describing the content of the periodical. This periodical is the background for analysis of Czech Thalia, which was published in 1887 - 1892. The content of this periodical is decribed as well, focusing on the analysis of theoretical and historical articles. There is realized the comparision between both of Czech Thalia by reason of uniqueness of each periodical individually in contemporary society, and the aiming of periodicals is also formulated. In the part about the second Czech Thalia, the relationship with the realism and the amount of participating on the realistic programme is accentuated. The conclusion is finding the main importance of Czech Thalia in her reflection of modern influences on the theatre, nevertheless not as a tool of the realism. The thesis is extended of a supplement which consists of the bibliography of all theoretical, critical and historical articles from the second Czech Thalia.
