Numerical modelling of the Formula student powertrain
Krmíček, Antonín ; Ušiak, Michal (referee) ; Šebela, Kamil (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with system modelling of Formula Student powertrain unit. System models allow the interactions between the different parts of the powertrain to be tracked, allowing the components to be optimized for the desired drive cycle. A system model of the powertrain is built based on measured data or calculations of component parameters. This can predict limiting factors such as maximum available motor torque, component temperatures or battery discharge. The model is validated against runs on the test track. Furthermore, the model is modified to consider the changes expected in the next generation of the vehicle. It is assumed that the model will be used in the future not only for the design and optimization of powertrain components, but also for lap time simulations as part of a virtual vehicle model.
