The ideal first grade teacher trough the eyes of parents

The thesis surveys the perspective of parents of children attending last class of nusery school and investigates what expectation they have about first grade teachers. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part summarizes existing knowledge the main actors wiho are present in the pupil's transition to the first grade, which are the pupil, the family and the teacher. The practical part is focused on a mixed methods study. In the first part quantitative research is used questionnaire method, the research sample comprises the parents of preschool children. The responses reflext the respondent's opinions about idea about first grade teacher in primary school. First grade teachers react to this parent's idea. The semi-structured group interview method is used to find out whether the parent's ideas seem realistic to them and if they satisfy or prove to satisfy this idea about first grade teacher in primary school. The aims of the thesis is to ascertain, how looks the teacher's ideal by parents, which characteristics parents prefer in relation to pupils and parents and how the first grade teachers react on these ideas. Teacher and the teacher's assistant's mutual cooperation in the first year of studies at primary school

The topic of this dissertation is the case study which is concerned with the cooperation of the teacher and the teacher's assistant in the process of education of the first class' pupils at primary school. Theoretic part is collected knowledge from the professional literature. There are described possibilities of pupils' support at the beginning of the compulsory education and the role of the teacher's assistant under the terms of this support. The text also includes the position of the teacher's assistant in legislation and the work of personal assistant. I paid attention to ethical and other problems which are connected with the work of teacher's assistant. In empirical part is processed the case study of the first class at quite common elementary school. It was caught the progress and the changes of teacher and teacher's assistant's cooperation in the term of one year. Collecting of the information was made by the form of observation, field research, dialogues and questionnaires. The cooperation between teacher and the teacher's assistant was not under way I expected. I think that on the basis of acquired experience the teacher's assistant did not pay attention to pupils enough time. Social class climate in the first grade of the primary school

Social class climate in the first grade of the primary school is the topic of my diploma thesis. My work is oriented on the creating and affecting the class climate by a beginner teacher. The theoretical part of my thesis is describing the key concept of class societal climate. Later on, I am describing methods that teachers can use to affect the class societal climate. I have chosen methods of personal and societal education and describing them in detail within the theoretical part. Those methods are described in connection with Framework Education Program of Elementary Education and didactic point of view. In addition, there is a part describing pupils' maturity and their readiness before and after entering school. To be fully oriented in this area, I recognized as a very important thing to also include methods used for collecting information about the status of the class climate. The empirical part of my work incorporates teachers research based on McNiff cyclus. Activities related to Personal and Social Education I divided into separate chapters based on different objectives.
