HOREHLEĎOVÁ, Veronika
The thesis titled "The life of minorities in South Bohemian and South Moravian region" deals with problems of Romani minority groups and their education. Education and process of studying creates at present the key conditions for rising of the Romani ethnicity and their integration into society. In theoretical part is described the origin and dividing of Romani people and their historical connection in their progress in our country. There have been mentioned current problems concerning the Romani minority, as for example social exclusion, discrimination, etc. Other chapters refer to Romani culture, family and upbringing. The most substantial part of the thesis focuses on education and is lead in this direction. We also stated the current level of education among the Romani ethnicity. In the empirical part presents records of the research focused on education of Romani ethnicity in the secondary-studies area. Research was processed in the secondary analyses data system and the quantitative evaluation of questionnaire. The main aim of the thesis was to find out what kind of secondary schools pupils of Romani ethnicity prefer, whether they completed the education or finish it untimely. Whether pupils and students from the social disadvantaged background get help from assistant pedagogues for children during their studies. Furthermore we investigated if Romani students of grammar schools take advantage of grant from the state to study. The most preferred types of grammar schools among Romani were vocational schools. Only small amount of respondents chose vocational schools with the enclosure of finished leaving examination. Through that result had to be proved or disapproved the formulated hypothesis: Romani minority completes the secondary schools education. This hypothesise was disproved, as most of the Romani pupils did not complete their secondary school education. The thesis points out the factors which influence the Romani ethnicity attitude towards the education and the process of studying. Records of the thesis are beneficial for practice as the schools which were engaged in this research continue in cooperation with us. As a feedback we provided the records of this research to schools as they may use the information for better orientation what students expect from the education , how to approach it or the choice of study they prefer. At the same time the records of the research may be used as an informative and educational material for public and specialists.

The main aim of my research is to find out how the Romany community in Tábor perceives activities of Cheiron T in relation to itself and how the Romany community reflects it at different levels. Other fractional aims are to find out what are the differences in perceiving activity of Cheiron T between representatives of Romany community who belong to initiation group and other inactive representatives of Romany community in Tábor and also what the community itself thinks they could do to change their unfavourable life situation. The practical part ends with presentation and interpretation of interviews of representatives of Romany community who I have held a conversation with. At the end of the thesis there is a discussion where I compare these interviews with my practical experience and the ideas I have found in literature.

Gypsies and Interpersonal Relations
PECHOVÁ, Jana
The topic of my Thesis is ``Gypsies and Interpersonal Relations{\crqq}. I chose this particular topic intentionally. In my opinion, even though gypsies have been a part of our society for a long time, relations between them and other citizen in the society are not on a satisfactory level. Mutual interpersonal relations between the majority society citizens and gypsies are very hot and discussed topic. The co-existence issue is analyzed not only by professionals but also by wide public. My Thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part deals with the gypsies history, the structure of their society, a traditional gypsy family, traditional family habits, gypsy language, racism and discrimination, mutual relations between the gypsy society and other citizens, and social work with the gypsy minority. In the practical part of my thesis, I have used the method of quantitative analysis. I used two kinds of questionnaire. One of them was addressed to gypsy citizens and the other one was for the rest of the majority citizens. I have distributed 120 questionnaires among the gypsy citizens. The return was about 76 %. The other questionnaire was for the majority citizens. The return was 100 %. The goal of my Thesis was to discover reasons that lead to problems and issues between gypsies and the majority citizens. I was able to establish three assumptions. Firstly, more than half questioned gypsies experienced some kind of discrimination. This assumption was proved to be correct. Secondly, more than half of questioned majority citizens have negative experience with gypsies. This assumption was also proved to be correct. And thirdly, more than half questioned respondents from the majority citizens do not know the basic specifics of gypsies ethnic. And this assumption was again proved to be true. The results of my work will be at disposal to people involved in the gypsy{\crq}s issues and to students of the Health Social University, majoring in a Rehabilitation and Psycho {--} Social care of handicapped kids, adults and seniors. In the future, my findings may serve to create new arrangements that could lead to better the current situation between gypsies and the majority citizens

Rights of Immigrants
SOUKUPOVÁ, Eva
The Czech Republic encounters problems of immigration after 1989. At present time there are about 2.5% of foreigners in the Czech Republic. This percentage is amongst the lowest within EU, however the predictions for the future are that the number is going to constantly increase. People come to the Czech Republic seeking better conditions for living and want to start a new life here. Therefore part of the government policy should be securing immigrants with equal access and equal opportunities in the labour market, in relation to health as well as social care. A quantitative research in the form of a questionnaire technique was selected in the practical part. Anonymous questionnaires for immigrants and public were used. The research aimed at immigrants was conducted in institutions engaged in helping aliens in Brno, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové, Plzeň and Prague. Total of 120 questionnaires were sent out. The questionnaire's returnability was 49%. The research set was therefore formed by 59 respondents. Research aimed at public was conducted in České Budějovice, Jindřichův Hradec and in Třeboň. Total of 110 questionnaires were handed out and their returnability was 100%. All questionnaires were evaluated and elaborated into percentage figures. Two goals are set in the thesis. To each of the goals two hypotheses were set. Goal 1: Find out the level of immigrants' knowledge about labour law and related regulations to it {--} health insurance, welfare. Hypothesis No. 1: More than half of the questioned immigrants know their rights. Hypothesis No. 2: More than half of the questioned immigrants know to whom they may turn to in case of problem solving. After questionnaire evaluation the first hypothesis was not confirmed and the second hypothesis was confirmed. Goal 2: Find out the level of public awareness of the law status of aliens living in the area of the Czech Republic. Hypothesis No. 1: More than half of the questioned respondents do not know the alien rights living in the area of the Czech Republic. Hypothesis No. 2: More than half of the questioned respondents know the organizations providing support for aliens living in the area of the Czech Republic. After evaluation of the questionnaire the first hypothesis was not confirmed and the second was confirmed.
