Influence of a controlled training on habitual physical activity in patients with type 2 diabetes
Sodomková, Gabriela ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Procházka, Miroslav (referee)
Diploma thesis "Vliv řízeného tréninku na habituální pohybovou aktivitu pacientů s diabetes mellitus 2. typu" in the theoretical part deals with Type 2 diabetes (DM2T), its complications and possibilities of its therapy. Emphasis is put on physical activity as the main non-pharmacological mean influencing insulin resistance. The basic health aspects of physical activity, general recommendations and specific sport activities for DM2T patients are mentioned. We also focus on potential risks related to physical exercises. Furthermore, we examine habitual physical activity, meaning energy expenditure in daily activities. The objective of the practical part of this thesis is to determine the level of habitual physical activity of DM2T patients and to show how it is influenced by stationary bicycle exercises. The impact of regular physical activity on the health indicators, physical fitness and anthropometric parameters, is examined. The sample of patients includes 20 individuals with DM2T, who have completed insulin therapy and currently are cured with peroral antidiabetics and regime measures. Pedometer and International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) are used in order to monitor habitual physical activity. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The level of physical activity among high school students and their parents of Secondary school business, Husova, České Budějovice
NOVOTNÁ, Štěpánka
The presented work seeks to determine the level of physical activity among secondary school students in the nation-wide research of the active lifestyle and fitness of Czech youth. The research is primarily focused on the relationship between physical fitness defined on the basis of test kits health-related fitness of children and youth INDARES and BMI, body fat at adolescents. To collect data for the research was used a standardized questionnaire IPEN, monitoring the number of steps using pedometers Yamax Digiwalker SW-700 and health-related fitness testing using the test kits INDARES. The research was conducted in December 2014 and May 2015. Data were obtained from 55 secondary school students aged 16-18 in the České Budějovice. The results of the survey revealed that the average value of the respondents BMI and body fat is normal health-related fitness. Research has shown that the amount of body fat (r = 0.5200, p = 0.000) has a greater effect on the test aerobic fitness than BMI (r = 0.2569, p = 0.000). Physical inactivity brings health risks and just that should be the impetus for a change of lifestyle.

The active lifestyle and physical fitness in high school students
ČADKOVÁ, Ladislava
This diploma thesis deals with the physical activity and fitness of high school adolescents from Ceske Budejovice. 55 pupils at the age of 17 and 18 years entered the research completely voluntary, 38 girls and 17 boys. The theoretical part describes the lifestyle, physical activity and its reccomendation, fitness and adolescents. In the empire part, I analyzed the physical activity using the pedometer Yamax Digiwalker SW-700 and the quality of fitness using the Indares battery tests. The results were analyzed and compared according to physical activity reccomendation and other researchs. It has not been proven that the activity of adolescents is somehow strongly connected with their fitness. On the other hand big differences between pupils were confirmed. More than 3 of pupils comply with the recommended activity, but no more than 1 of participants passed 3 and more fitness tests. The main purpose of this thesis is to describe the ill health and different life style of teenagers, which is still more expensive but does not make the quality better. The research is a part of grant GARČ called ,, Multifactorial research on built environment, active lifestyle and physical fitness of adolescents?. It is connected with international study IPEN Adolescent: ?Multifactorial research on built environment and physical activity of adolescents?.

Physical fitness of female students at University of South Bohemia
RŮŽIČKOVÁ, Lucie
In last several years the amount of physical activities during our day time seriously decreased. That phenomenon was caused by reduction of physically demanding works in our jobs and sitting way of spending free time. The result of the previous fact is population fitness worsening and consequently worsening of the labour productivity and health condition. The fitness is tightly connected with the relationship between a man and a movement and sporting activities. It should become the important part of the healthy life style and influence the formation of proper manners of every single man. The fitness is one of the markers of the cardiovascular system condition. And it is considered to be the certain sum of preconditions for optimal reaction on the stress of whatever cause. The regular training, the physical activity and the daily reasonable energetic income are the safest and the least economically demanding ways how to prevent civilisation diseases. The first task of the theses was to assess the fitness of women students of The University of South Bohemia. The fitness was assessed on the base of Ruffier?s test. The second task was to compare the fitness of several groups of students which represented every single faculty of The University of South Bohemia. The both tasks were completed. Two hypotheses were settled and confirmed in purpose to reach the goal of the theses. H1: The numerological value of the Rufier?s test of women students of the Faculty of Education is lower than the result of women from the other faculties. H2: Women students whose result of Ruffier?s test is 0-5 are spending more time by performing physical activity than other students. In this theses, Ruffier?s test as a non-direct way of assessing the fitness has been chosen to confirm the both hypotheses. Ruffier?s test is a simple test to asses the fitness which uses changes of the hearth rate before and after exercising. The test is based on the general premise that the hard body exercising which last for a longer period of time is connected with the rising of heart rate. The heart rate was recorded by sport tester. Heart rate values were set into the pattern for counting the index of Ruffier?s test and consequently classified. Averages of the Ruffier?s index of each faculty were measured and compared. The questionnaire was ad to the Ruffier?s index for better assessing the fitness of students. The questionnaire was composed by thirteen questions. Some of questions were of open and some of close type. The questionnaires were anonymous. Hypothesis H1 was confirmed. The average value of the Ruffier?s index for women students of the pedagogical faculty was 10,7. And the average value of the Ruffier?s index for women students of other faculties was 13. It means the average fitness of women students of pedagogical faculty is better than the average fitness of women students of other faculties. Hypothesis H2 confirmed the correlation between the time spending by physical exercising and the better fitness. The more times weekly women students exercise for more than 30 minutes a day the lower value of the Ruffier?s index they have. The assumption of the average values of the Ruffier?s index of those women from 0 to 5 was overstated. Women student in this project had the average values from 10 to 15 which mean worse values of fitness. Despite the worse values of Ruffier?s index, the correlation between the spending time by exercising and better fitness was confirmed. To sum up, there is a recommendation to compensate the simple monotone physical activity by wide spectrum of physical activities. The sport should be introduced into the life style. The person with a good fitness has less problems with movement, can work for a longer time without break, is strong and capable to fulfil everyday tasks with reserves. The process of improving the fitness is a run for a long distance but it should be the goal of all people no matter of how old they are.
The effects confrontation of the aerobic and yoga activities upon the cardiovascular system of the college students with the emphasison the preventive health programs and life style optimalization
KOKEŠ, Radim
The aim of this thesis is to find and compare the physical fitness level of the college students in relation to the aerobic and yoga activities. I also aimed to explore the effects of these activities on the cardiovascular system of women, and to determine the physical load improvement which could influence the health condition and lifestyle in a positive way. 237 students of the University of South Bohemia in ČeskéBudějovice participated in the research. They were 20 up to 23 years old and they were divided into two groups according to their hobbies. They underwent the two-term long physical programs - the aerobic one and the yoga one. To compare the results of these programs I used the anthropometric and motometric methods and a questionnaire as well - BMI, Ruffier´s test, T-test, Spearman´s correlation coefficient and the circadian rhythm, lifestyle, emotional state and self-image based questionnaire. The statistic analysis of gained data shows a considerable change as for the Ruffier index of physical fitness, and this is just a result of the intervention physical program use within both of the experimental groups as for the level of importance p<0,001. These results confirm the hypothesis H1 and H3 and a contributive effect on the physical fitness of the college students either. BMI of the experimental aerobic group also shows an important change as for the level of importance p<0,01. This result confirms the hypothesis H2 and the fact that the aerobic program has a contributive effect on the BMI as for the ES. As for the experimental yoga group, there were not seen any changes and therefore the hypothesis H4 was not confirmed either. The circadian rhythm questionnaire analysis shows that due to the physical stress, these students often face depressions. The gained data show a low level of cardiovascular indicators as for the entrance measurement, and a significant improvement during a regular intentional use of proper physical exercises - both aerobic and yoga ones. This is very important for the preventive health programs and the active lifestyle of women during their college studies.
