Knowledge of general first aid for soldiers - members of the Engineer Battalion
DUDEK, Jan
Non-professional first aid knowledge is important not only for the person that is forced to provide it, but also, and to even larger extent for the affected person the first aid is provided to. The Army of the Czech Republic is a unit belonging to the Integrated Rescue System. The other units of the Integrated Rescue System provide planned assistance in rescue and liquidation works upon request. Professional soldiers ? members of the combat engineering forces are specialized in performance of special ground tasks by means of special combat-engineering technologies. In peacetime they perform tasks related to civil protection and help in the instances of natural disasters or in emergency situations of similar character. That means that within performance of their jobs professional soldiers ? members of combat engineering troops may meet a person that needs first aid. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to map the level of knowledge of non-professional first aid among professional soldiers ? combat engineers. A hypothesis assumes that professional soldiers ? members of combat engineering troops have sufficient knowledge of non-professional first aid. The bachelor thesis is based on the methodology of information collection from various sources and data collection performed in quantitative form, by the method of anonymous questioning employing open, semi-open and closed questions. The bachelor thesis might be used as study material in the issues in question, as a summary of new findings about the knowledge of non-professional first aid among professional soldiers ? members of combat engineering troops.

Readiness of forces and equipment to manage emergencies, non-military and military crisis
KUBÁT, Robert
We live in a time when people are increasingly threatened by emergencies that affect the health or lives of everyone. To prevent or delay the dangerous effects of these emergencies and crisis situations, our society has created a system eliminating these effects. The thesis is focused on this system, which is tailored and ready to address emergency situations by using its forces and equipment. In the Czech Republic such situations are managed by using some of components of the Integrated Rescue System. The objective of the thesis was to identify the readiness of forces and equipment of basic components of the Integrated Rescue System, which are the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Emergency Medical Service and other components of the Army of the Czech Republic to manage emergencies. In order to determine how the individual components, members of individual components respectively, view the readiness of forces and equipment of basic components of the Integrated Rescue System and the Army of the Czech Republic, I personally distributed questionnaires focused on this issue. I made up one hundred questionnaires, and because I myself handed them out and collected them, the return rate was 100 %. Each file contains twenty-five questionnaires. Questionnaires were processed into tables and graphs and in this manner an overview was created showing how each of the components sees the readiness of forces and equipment to manage emergency situations.

BURDA, Radek
The thesis analyzes the current status of the Engineer Corps of the Army of the Czech Republic, which is an integral part of the rescue system in the Czech Republic. With its background material and technical equipment the Engineer Corps dealing with consequences of emergencies and crisis situations are best equipped of all the components of the Army of the Czech Republic. The thesis summarizes the Engineer Corps mission, determination and incorporation in the Army of the Czech Republic. It also describes the forces and resources of the Engineer Corps, especially the 15th Engineer Brigade and specifies the principles of combat application and deployment. This study aim is to make emergency management authorities acquainted with the possibilities of forces and resources of the Engineer Corps of the Army of the Czech Republic usage in emergencies and crisis situations within the Integrated Rescue System and the crisis situations management. Instructions for crisis management bodies in context of the Engineer Corps combat application in crisis situations management are also a part of the thesis. Analysis of the current situation, the study of literature and the practical experience of the Engineer Corps show that the Engineer Corps of the Army of the Czech Republic are ready to participate in emergency management within the Integrated Rescue System, but first of all, they are prepared to intervene in crisis situations, according to the needs of emergency management bodies.
THE CZECH REPUBLIC MILITARY INVOLVEMENT IN THE INTERGATED RESCUE SYSTEM.
SNÍŽEK, Libor
Nowadays, active involvement of the Army of the Czech Republic as well as of the Integrated Rescue System (IRS) has been increasingly required. Both of these components present a great support to society and this fact often leads to their co-operation. Therefore, the main objective of this thesis is to describe the cooperation of these units. The first part of the thesis deals with basic principles of cooperation and the determination of responsibilities and competences of individual units. General background of this issue, such as the crisis management definition, its origination and implication, is also mentioned. Most of the work, however, describes the historical development of the Army of the Czech Republic and the related changes in the structure and also in principles of cooperation with the IRS. The greatest attention is paid to the year 2008, which is, in context of this thesis, considered the most important historical milestone in the development of the Army of the CR (ACR). In this year rescue battalions were dissolved, which significantly disrupted cooperation between the IRS and the ACR, let us say society as a whole. The second part deals with investigation if the realized restructuring is considered a positive step. Therefore, 100 respondents, mostly professionals, were inquired if they consider the dissolution of rescue battalions as appropriate. The results were statistically evaluated and together with other research, which was focused on expenditures incurred for the intervention of the ACR before and after restructuring, and relevant conclusions and recommendations were deduced. The results show clearly that the dissolution of battalions was not considered a positive step.

Social profile of applicants for military service in professional soldiers.
VURM, Michal
The Czech Republic and its army, two concepts which belong inseparably together, the Czech Republic, a country in the very heart of Europe on the one side, and a fundamental institution protecting its territory and population on the other side, in the past and at present. The latest chapter in the history of our statehood starts in November 1989. The collapse of the totalitarian regime in Czechoslovakia opened up new vistas of fundamental changes, it worked the way to the revival of a sovereign democratic security. The launching of basic economic reforms and reforms of state administration also presented the starting point for the return to the association of European democratic states. In the course of a gradual integration into European structures, the Czech Republic showed its adherence to the democratic pre-war traditions and principles. Finally, the membership of the Czech Republic in organs representing the frame of European and worldwide democracy ands safety {--} NATO in March 1999 and the European Union in May 2004 {--} can be translated as a convincing proof of the positive development. The studied group consisted of 80 respondents, 79 percent of males and 21 percent od females. The main age representation varied between 18 and 20 years of age. The decisive economic parameter in the decision making process affecting young people in joining the Army of the Czech Republic seems to be the gross income varying between 20 and 30 thousand Czech crowns. In 58 percent of applicants the recruitment bonus played a major role, whereas in 53 percent of applicants employment benefits appeared to be especially attractive. The independence of the current family was reported to be a highly significant (50 percent) and significant (41 percent) factor. The security of profession in future showed to be another decisive factor and 79 percent of applicants appreciated a higher income as compared with their present civil job. The chance to participate in the missions of the Army of the Czech Republic abroad appeared to be of minimum significance (10 percent) and only 13 percent of respondents expressed their motivation as hunger for adventure. 73 percent of applicants stated the chance to develop their physical condition as well as their interest in sports and games as highly significant. The research was based on a quantitative analysis. Two hypotheses were formulated: H1: The largest proportion of applicants for the employment as professional soldiers is represented by secondary school leavers with A-levels.
Position and role of rescue battalions of Army the Czech Republic, their potentials and utilization at reaction planning to an emergency.
LOVIČKA, Štefan
The military rescue divisions existed in different organizational structures in whole after-war history of the Czech Republic. The divisions operated on the military base and were intended for the performance of the tasks of the civil defence during state of war. In the peaceful conditions were the divisions used for the implementation of the rescue operations in the natural disasters and industry breakdowns or eventually for the help of the national economy. The military rescue divisions arose from the reason that there was built no Integrated rescue system in term of the history by the name of the army of the Czech Republic. Though the rise of the large armed conflict in the territory of the Czech Republic is not likely in the closest time horizon but there is the possibility of the attacking by the mass destruction weapons in the long term perspective can not be excluded. Safety situation has been getting worse from the global point of view and the recency of the threat of the asymmetric character is also increasing. These threats are mainly connected to the subjects organizing terrorist attacks whose objects are largely civil targets. These subjects exert more effort to gain the mass destruction weapons. The cold war was abandoned at the end oh the last century but the activity of the safety threats of the non-military character has been rising in the last years which is connected to natural and industrial disasters, organized crime, legal and illegal person migration, spread of the drugs, dangerous contagious diseases, disturbance of the information and control systems and exposure of the public order. It has gradually been happening to the transformation of the army of the Czech Republic which is dramatically connected to military rescue battalions that are individual part of the army of the Czech Republic. Owing to the possibility of the exploitation of these forces and means in peace or in the war conflict for the people´s protection or for the support of Integrated rescue system and sappers troop support I have decided to pay attention to the problem of the reorganization military rescue battalions in my bachelor´s work and to rectify if it has essential influence on ensuring emergency and crisis awareness on unexpected events in the south region of the Czech Republic.
The concept, structure, operational forms and methods of rescue units in the Czech Army and their activities within the Integrated rescue system
MRZENA, Pavel
The concept, structure, operational forms and methods of rescue units in the Czech Army and their activities within the Integrated Rescue System Negative aspects such as insensitive or ill-judged human treatment of the nature, worsening climatic conditions, dynamically developing transport and industry cause occurrence of various noxious agents that endanger the health of the human beings as well as animals and they also contaminate their surrounding and living spaces. Their impact on the natural disasters has been scientifically proved. It refers to extraordinary events and crisis situations that people cannot avoid. In present day there is also a new phenomenon which means terrorist attacks. All these facts force countries all over the world to establish certain systems and units that would insure reducing of the possible risks and that would be able to take measures against loss and damages to lives, health and property or would be able to decrease them. For all these reasons the existence of an organizational complex called Integrated Rescue System in the Czech republic is inevitable. It will be used in cases of rescuer actions and liquidation works when a simultaneous cooperation of more units of this system is needed. To reinforce these units in cases when they cannot get the situation under the control the rescue formations of the Czech Army use other forces and resources of the Czech Army. The aim of this work was to confirm and approve a good cooperation of the basic units within Integrated Rescue System with the rescue units of the Czech Army and make a certain survey which would introduce the Czech Army within Integrated Rescue System even to a laic public. We can claim that the functioning and collaboration of these units is developing and improving all the time and the system works as a complex.
