On the Role of Man in the World (Contemplations in the Late Works of Jan Patočka)
PIZINGER, David
Annotation This work is interested in the late philosophy of Jan Patočka. The leading idea is to find basic motives in Patočka{\crq}s concept of The care of soul, and tries to make a connection to his life and social context. One of the most important expressions of the social reality is art. Jan Patočka{\crq}s continuing theme was the problem of human exsitence. How to live an authentic life. The post modern art is also interested in being authentic. The man according to Patočka is a personality determined by going out of his self and by finding this self from a different point of view. That is the question for performing arts: How to express the inside to be visible, how to make it a partner of a dialogue? Which means that Jan Patočka{\crq}s philosophy can be realized by some special kind of praxis. A praxis which is not practical as such. In the works of Jan Patočka, Being and social role play a substantial role. The problem of narration {--} a myth as a part of the process of young man{\crq}s identification and his acceptance from the society. The question of how to be a part of a society implicates another one: what are the foundations of society? What is the idea of European society? Questions concerning the heritage of Europe are {--} in anticipation {--} questions about the sense of Europe (or the European Union) today. In general, is there a possibility to live together, in any kind of human comunity? Through society he gets back to individuality with its questions. Patočka tries to ask concrete questions, expecting answers from Being itself. What is important: he doesn{\crq}t want to make a comprehensive system (following the example of Platón), he only urgently seeks the questions which can open the Being's truth. The sources: This work uses Jan Patočka`s texts from the 1970s. It compares them with texts from the field of art and tries to find their historical context.

Jewellery ( collection of jewellery pieces). Jewellery in the create of natural civilisations.
HORÁKOVÁ, Petra
The following dissertation is presented in two parts. The main part is focused on the collection of twelve jewellery pieces, which I designed and produced myself. In case of decorative objects I tried to find a balance of shapes, structures and materials. The jewellery is made from organic and natural resources which I often find charming and fascinating. The greatest inspiration for me had to be the world`s natural civilisations, which don{\crq}t regard the jewellery pieces just as decoration but for them represent also magical and spiritual meaning. In the theoretic part of my dissertation I focused on the comparison of jewellery in natural civilisations with the primate jewellery of mankind. In this part of my work I searched for the roots of magic and art in general and I discovered the connections with todays remaining natural civilisations {--} magical meaning of jewellery, use of material and meaningful ornaments. Here I also mentioned the use and representation of jewellery. Attempting to clarify the concept of amullet, talisman and fetish. All written text is supported by picture documentation. In the last chapter I summarised the main focus of my dissertation and reflected on the creative process of my work. The last part of my dissertation contains all photo documentation of the creative process.
EGYPT
MICHNOVÁ, Markéta
The diploma thesis is focused on Egypt which was in the ancient world a cradle of one of the first civilizations in the human history. People living there thousands years ago left a huge arts, architectural and literature heritage to our generations. Their wisdom and foresight can be often taken as an example to our times. Egypt and its long-ago history is the issue so extensive that one of the scientific studies, called Egyptology, deals only with this subject. There is an inexhaustible number of ways and methods designed to deal with the given issue. In my diploma thesis, I was trying to work up this broad topic; however, I was not able to map it out in all its aspects and variations. I did not set myself the task to introduce children the detailed world of Egypt via this project but I just wanted to present one of the possible ways this issue can be worked up for the use of training of the first grade of primary schools pupils. It is very important in my opinion to encourage the today´s children´s interest and curiosity in the given subject and to capture it in the way that they will be interested in the history of Egypt even outside school.
