Peru: Developing country with mineral wealth

The aim of the thesis "Peru: developing country with mineral wealth" is to analyze the most prosperous economic sector in Peru, which is the mining industry. Although Peru is a developing country in the world known for its rich history, also has big economic potential, which still faces many challenges. Peru belongs to the world's ten largest producers and holders of the world's reserves of silver, copper, zinc, lead, tin, and gold. In addition, this sector is important to the global level, it has a big impact on the Peruvian economy After obtaining independence in 1821, Peru has undergone periods of political unrest, financial crises and phases of stability and economic growth. During the colonial period was indigenous people often exploited and their culture suppressed. Today the indigenous population of about half the population live mostly in the traditional way of life in mountain areas and Amazon jungle. Liberalization reforms in the 90s opened Peru doors to economic prosperity, but also a deepening social differences. The work uses the methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison and is divided into four chapters. The first chapter of the thesis deals with the general definition of the developing world, with an emphasis on developing region of Latin America. Second chapter is focused on Peru's political, economic and social development. Third chapter belongs to the most significant sector of the Peruvian economy, mining industry and its impact in the world and domestic economy. This sector faces big problems as informal mining and social conflicts because of the pollution. Last chapter aims to assess the future development of the mining industry in Peru, which affect the internal and external influences of the global and national economic situation.
The Influence of the Indigenous Movements on International Position of the Latin American States

The main theme of the thesis is the influence of the ascending indigenous movement on the international position of the states Bolivia and Peru. Based on the analysis of internal changes and through comparison of both countries from the perspective of the international environment, the work tries to answer whether the international environment reflects these internal changes or not. For comparison are used the attitudes of regional economic and political partners, as well as USA and European Union and four non-governmental organizations. The work contains the history of indigenous peoples in the territory of Bolivia and Peru, the internal changes under the government of Evo Morales in Bolivia and APRA government in Peru.
Development Policy of the European Union - Co-operation with Peru

The aim of this thesis is to depict development co-operation of the European Union with Peru. The first chapter is dedicated to development policy, its objectives and its instruments. The topic of the second chapter is development co-operation of the European Union. I focus on its evolution, the method of the co-operation with developing countries, its aims and instruments. The last chapter is dedicated to the current situation in Peru as well as to its development co-operation with the European Union. As an example of this co-operation I have chosen the PRODAPP. I evaluate the result of the programm.
Reinforcement of the Property Rights as a Way how to Alleviate Poverty

The master's thesis discusses a development concept inspired by the Peruvian economist Hernando de Soto. It describes this concept and analyzes its potential to work in praxis. It introduces several critical responses addressed from a wide range of stakeholders - from civil society advocates to scholars -- and contends with their critique. Furthermore, the thesis frames this concept within the development paradigm, with a short overview of its evolution from the 50's and an emphasis on the institutional aspect. The last part analyzes results of the property rights formalization reform in Peru. The outcomes of this reform may be of major importance for the development efforts in the future. Although the anticipated connection of formalization and a better access to loans has not been proved yet, there are some other interesting effects to look at.
Transition to democracy in Peru in the 80s and the following development of the country

This thesis analyses the transition to democracy in Peru and monitors the following development of the country after installing democratic regime. Since the democracy is the fundamental notion of this thesis, first of all it is defined and after is evaluated the current state of democracy in the world and more in detail in Latin America. The thesis shows that the transition to democracy in Peru was in many was similar to the others democratic processes in the region but also that it has certain specialities. In the end, the thesis evaluates the current state of democracy in Peru according to perception of the inhabitants of this country.
Fujimorism: a character of the regime and his impacts

The Diploma Thesis deals with the character and formation of the regime of the controversial president Alberto Fujimori in 1990s in Peru and his followers' expectances in this Latin American country in the future. The main aim is to evaluate the influence of the president Fujimori's policy on progress in Peru. The main aim will be achieved through several partial aims (theoretical definition of democratic and undemocratic regimes, analysis of the most important turning-points, analysis of several aspects of president's policy and its influence in Peru, analysis of contemporary situation of fujimorism followers in Peru). There is used a historical logical method in the Thesis. This method is applied in chronological sequence on several events. These events are evaluated through the use of the analysis and fujimorism is characterized through an inductive method on the basis of particular findings. The comprehension of the period of the 1990s helps perceive not only a contemporary situation in the country in a better way, but also social changes which have happened and are happening right now.
Economic development of Peru and its role in the region of Latin America

E-marketing strategy for introducing peruvian products in selected European country

The Internet has revolutionized the way the world used to work by becoming a crucial part in people's lifestyle. Nowadays, the speed and extent with which people can communicate has reached unimaginable levels, affecting significantly their behavior and the way they do business. This thesis aims to clarify how does business models have changed with the implementation of the Internet by introducing one of its newest e-business models, an "online store" and its following e-marketing plan concepts. Similarly, the thesis also aims to elaborate a project where this e-business model is used to introduce Peruvian products to the Belgian market and evaluate its viability. For this purposes, an e-marketing plan of the mentioned project was developed including macro and micro analysis and customer analysis with its respective marketing research, finalizing with the elaboration of the e-marketing mix strategies. The results of the project revealed that most of the changes of implementing Internet in the business process become noticeable in the formulation of the marketing mix strategies. Regarding the project itself, the study concluded that there exist the right conditions in the country and its potential customers to be profitable. Nonetheless, success will only be reached by the effective implementation of the promotional strategies that help create brand-awareness and loyal relationships with the customers.
Teaching Regional Geography of South America at Universities {--} methodology of multimedia teaching with the example of Peru

This diploma thesis deals with methodical preparation of a university textbook of the regional geography of South America and is designed for students of geography teaching at the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The main part of the thesis is presented by a proposal of a comprehensive outline of the multimedia textbook of the regional geography of South America. An integral and essential part of the thesis is a sample of a regionally geographical characteristic of Peru in a multimedia form (DVD media). This diploma thesis contains besides didactical (practical) parts also indispensable theoretical chapters {--} introduction, extensive analysis of various literature and other materials, methodology, conclusion, list of literature and used data sources.
Conflict in Colombia and its impacts on the neighbour countries

This work is dedicated to Colombia's conflict. Its objective is to sum up its implications on neighbour states. Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Peru and Panama have to cope with the invasions of Colombia's guerrillas and paramilitary groups, waves of refugees who look for asylum in other countries in order to run away from acts of violence of their homeland or with increasing trend in cultivation of illicit crops. The United States of American intervenes significantly in the situation by trying with Plan Colombia to lower the quantity of cocaine coming from this region to American's markets. Brief conflict's development and characteristics of its actors, analysis of the relations among countries within the conflict and 3 possible scenarios of future development are used to achieve the main objective of the work.
