Why we identify term ?humus? with ?soil organic matter? in pedology, if it directs us to wrong deductios?
DVOŘÁK, Miroslav
To this day are terminological inaccuracies in subject publications, which direct us to wrong deductions. Therefore I devote oneself to literature search about soil organic matter, in my theses. Separately is split primary organic matter, levels of it´s lability and stable humus. I clarify the term stability and the difference in humus and primary soil organic matter. In this theses were effected analyses acid cambi soil in region Czech Budejovice and acid cambi soil in range of Bohemian Forest ? Kubova Huť. Was quantificated content HK, FK, Cox, humification degree SH, mineralized carbon Cminer, speed constant of biochemical oxidation C, fraction of labile organic substance Ccws, Chws, a CPM. I had compared this data with data, which we keep at one´s disposal from analyses effected twelve years ago. By comparing the real quality of humus in samples A (Kubova Huť) and B (České Budějovice) it stands to reason, that the B sample is superior in quality than sample A. Practice and media very often consider as ?humus? total content of Cox. If this thought should be the true, I would have to consider sample A (with content 9,3% Cox) as a soil with high level of humus and I would expect record returns in it. This conclusion would be real absurd. We can not talk about humus according to Cox content only. It is also necessary to take the primary claims (that the content Chws is an indicator of soil fertility) of some big men in field of pedology (for example Haynes) with a grain of salt. This applies only if soil micro ? edaphon is not decimated somehow. I came to the conclusions, that the final result of the analyses, effected by my thesis supervisor (Kolář) twelve years ago, on practically identical soil samples, are almost exactly the same with my results.
The influence of pasture system and pasture exploitation on sward structure and soil properties
ŠTAFKOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of the thesis is an influence of a grazing method and a frequency of grazing and the influence of grassland load on its composition and the soil enviroment. The basis is a literature rewiew which contains a brief outline of productive and nonproductive function of permanent grasslands, grazing systems, influence of individual livestock on grassland formation and ecological conditions influencing composition of a permanent grassland. The experimental part was performed at Carlsbad region near a village named Fojtov. The experiment includes botanical images of three different grazings, cattle, horse and sheep. At these grazings were made three observations, on the 27th of April 2012, on the 15th of June 2012 and on the 13th of September 2012. At the cattle grazing were made observations at three different growth types, at the sheep grazing were made at two different growth types considering a slope of grassland and on the horse grazing was made one observation. Obtained informations were used for calculation of species diversity indices (Simpsons and Hills) and for water regime of site. A part of the practical part was also to calculate overall grazing load for a grazing period and the grazing load for each grazing cycle.
Assessment of small machinery for processing and soil cultivation acording to selected indicators of exploitation
PAVELA, Josef
The first part of thesis is written as a literary review, which deals with the basic information of soil composition, the importance of soil in agriculture and the methods of soil tillage. It follows dividing of small tractors, machinery and tools for primary soil tillage, the soil preparation before sowing and planting and the soil cultivation. A literary review is concluded by an analysis of exploitation, economic and environmental indicators. The second part of thesis is formulated as the methodical way The methodology deals with measurement of operational tests, which means the time-frames measuring of selected rotary tillers. The thesis presents the results of measuremens of selected rotary tillers MOUNTFIELD MS 16 IN and VARI IV GLOBAL and compares the them. The conclusion of the thesis deals with an evaluation of the results, achieved by measurement.
A research project "Nest building activity of the ant \kur{Lasius niger} and its influence on bioturbation."
TŮMA, Jiří
Ant bioturbation and nest building process cause many changes in soil properties and environment development. This project is trying to clarify which factors are important in choosing different materials by ants for nest construction and which properties influence this process.
Alternative utilising of agricultaral land resourses in light of economic also uneconomic aspects
STANĚK, Jaroslav
The development of countryside and agriculture is seen especially in competitive and multifunctional agriculture with an emphasis on improving environmental quality, which will underpin long-term economic growth and provide sufficient conditions for rural development in services and other activities. The main emphasis of multifunctional agriculture is therefore put on investment in agriculture, including support for young farmers and the processing of agricultural production. One of the urgent problems of contemporary agriculture is the effective exploitation of agricultural land resources, when on the one side the production (economic) function will be filled to the maximum extent as well as environmental and security features on the other hand. The thesis is focused on this issue, on this aspect has been designed and calculated variations of the use of land block naturally in the context of possible scenarios of related landscape.
Phytoremediation of soils contaminated with some heavy metals
DOUŠEK, Štěpán
The problem of soil contamination with heavy metals and subsequent decontamination requires more attention. It is necessary to determine the methods to be environmentally friendly while also effective. This thesis offers a broader perspective on the various techniques with special emphasis on phytoremediation. The reference to the metal cadmium.
Optimalization and application of iodine spectrophotometric determination in soils.
HŘIVNÁČ, Jakub
This work deals with the content of iodine in soils, furthermore with obtaining and processing samples from four selected sampling areas, all of which are in the proximity of the Arnoštov settlement in district Prachatice in the foothills of Šumava. The soil samples were obtained from forest, meadow, pasture and fallow soil in 2009 to 2011. The iodine content in the soils was determined by using the spectrophotometric method, which had been optimized for the soil samples. Iodine concentration in lysimeter water was determined by using method inductively coupled plasma - mass spectrometry. The results obtained from each sampling areas were compared with each other and with the results from other areas. Consequently, the iodine concentration results in the soils were compared with the iodine concentration in lysimeter waters. It was found, that the highest iodine content in soils was measured in a sample obtained from Area 1 (meadow), part B in a depth of 16 - 30 cm in June of 2009, namely a content of 8,67 mg of I per kg of dry soil. The lowest content of 1,42 mg of I per kg of soil was found in the area 4 (forest), sample obtained in June of 2010, in the L horizon. By comparing iodine content with iodine concentrations in lysimeter waters, it was concluded that the concentration of iodine in lysimeter waters does not depend on iodine concentrations in soils and that it does not even represent the absolute iodine content in soil, as was determined by comparing the results from Arnoštov with data acquired from Agrovýzkum Rapotín in Jeseníky.
Conflict between biofuels support and food security
Vyhnalová, Kateřina ; Jílková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Pělucha, Martin (referee)
In recent years biofuels support is on the rise and is leading to rise in their productions. Biofuels are produced on land with agricultural products that is why there is rising land competition. Food prices are rising fast and food security is deteriorating. Hypothesis is that countries and international organizations are introducing measuress to guarantee food security. The aim of the thesis is to analyze interventions that respond to impacts of biofuel support in selected countries. The hypothesis is right. States are introducing measures to guarantee food security. Developed states give more financial donations to humanitarian institutions and support development of second generation biofuels that is not competitive with food production. Developing states implement for example increasing food export duties or prohibition of food exports, reducing food import duties and reducing tax levy on food. Some developing states have decided for food safeguarding.
The hazards of soil pollutants and their effects on the human health
ŠVEHLOVÁ, Jana
Good soil condition belongs to the basic requirements of well-ballanced environment. That is why the soil has to correspond to hygienic requirements and be protected against substances harmful to human health, e.g. toxic materials, germs of transmissible illnesses and parasites. The most common cause of soil contamination is anthropogenic incidence. Contaminated soil belongs to waste and has to be removed in a proper way. is A special way of waste removal is soil decontamination. Its goal is to remove harmful substances and regain the original use of the soil.
