The Questions of Explaining Domestic Violence
POSTRÁNECKÁ, Hana
The subject I have chosen for my bachelor thesis is ?The Questions of Explaining Domestic Violence?. This bachelor thesis aims to define problems in the course of the explanation of domestic violence, and at the same time, to find out specific aspects in the explanation of domestic violence. The first chapter of the theoretical part deals with the definition of the term of domestic violence and the characteristics of the victim and the offender. It further deals with the forms, kinds, specifics and causes of domestic violence, the questions of battered woman syndrome and Stockholm syndrome. The next chapter deals with criminology point of view of criminal offences related to domestic violence and its explanation. The chapter involves criminal activity, the specifics of its explanation and typical motives, the questions of testimony and cooperation with experts in terms of domestic violence. The following chapter deals with the activity of institutional participants of domestic violence, who are mainly criminal proceedings bodies, intervention centre and a body of social and legal protection of children. The last chapter is focused on legislation. For the practical part, I have set the main objective: ?to define problems in the course of the explanation of domestic violence?. I have also set two partial objectives: ?to find out specific aspects of explanation of domestic violence? and ?to find out the extent assistance provided by the institution in the course of explanation of domestic violence.? To fulfil the objectives I used the qualitative research method along with the semi-standardised interview technique. Six experts were asked seven questions when data were collected. To obtain informative data, I addressed experts working in state and non-state institutions who deal with domestic violence. Drawing on my research, I laid down hypotheses that are described in the chapters Discussion and Conclusion. The main objective is answered by Hypothesis 1: ?The most frequent problems in the explanation of domestic violence are high latency, long-term maltreatment, crime scene, insufficiency of the body of evidence, lack of cooperation from the victim and the specifics of the victim?. The objectives of the thesis were fulfilled. The thesis can be used for a further development of interdisciplinary assistance to persons threatened by domestic violence and prevention development. Further, the thesis can be used in lessons for assisting workers.

Bullying at vocational school
PEŠOVÁ, Olga
The topic of this bachelor thesis ``bullying at apprentice training schools{\crq}q is becoming more and more discussed these days. One of the main reasons of this trend is the constant media attention regarding the given topic. Cases of bullying and aggression are very often presented not only on television and in newspaper but also on the Internet. What is considered highly alarming is the fact that the age of aggressively behaving young people and children is continually dropping. I think that, as in the majority of interpersonal problems, the origin of this conduct is to be found in negative aspects of family upbringing. In my experience, most of the bullies grew up in families that were either incomplete or dysfunctional. The outcome of these findings is the content of the bachelor thesis here presented. In the theoretical part, I focus on the exact definition of bullying, aggressor and victim, on the specificities in children and youth, as well as on the definition of the family unit and its function. In the practical part, it was my goal to asses the extent of bullying at the Apprentice School in Třešť and to inquire into the connection between this kind of behavior and family upbringing. The research in the practical part was conducted through quantitative questionnaires for the students of the school and semi-standardized interviews with the teachers and staff. As an illustration, at the end of the practical part a case of one of the students at the Apprentice School in Třešť is presented. The research has revealed that the most important condition for a harmonic development of the child is an appropriate upbringing in his/her family without unnecessary punishments and without pathological symptoms in the functioning of the family.

ALCOHOLISM AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE HOME VIOLENCE
The scientific and ordinary public attitute fowards to the home violence
VESELÁKOVÁ, Jesika
Abstract This Bachelor{\crq}s thesis deals, both theoretically and practically, with the attitudes of the professional and non-professional public to domestic violence. Violence in its various forms has been deep-rooted in human behaviour from time immemorial, and, in my opinion, it is unrealistic to think that it may be eliminated or at least suppressed at its beginning. What may be dealt with, however, are attitudes of society towards violence and its originators. The victim{\crq}s attitude is derived from the attitude of the state and the professional and non-professional public to this matter. The theoretical part focuses on defining the term of domestic violence and its specific aspects and forms. The readers become acquainted with society{\crq}s different views of men, women and children in a brief historical discourse. This thesis also sums up the characteristics of the victim and the culprit of domestic violence, and it briefly informs about the development and the present legislative state in the Czech Republic. The final chapters of this part deal with the definition, components and measuring of attitudes. The objective of the thesis was surveying the real situation of the professional and non-professional public{\crq}s attitudes. Before I started my research, I set up two hypotheses for each of the groups questioned. The first hypothesis confirms that the non-professional public is not sufficiently aware of domestic violence and possibilities of help provided to victims. The second hypothesis confirms that the non-professional public perceives domestic violence as a negative phenomenon in society, and are ready to participate in its detection. I consider the fact that the non-professional public are not able to distinguish domestic violence from ``hard disputes{\crq}q, as results from the first hypothesis, as the most serious obstacle in the way non-professional public detect this criminal offence. The third hypothesis confirms that more than 70 per cent of the respondents from among the professional public consider domestic violence as a problem concerning the entire society. The fourth hypothesis confirming that the prevailing majority of the respondents from among the professional public regard the currently valid legal state as sufficient, was refuted. To conduct the survey I used the quantitative method. The data were obtained from two sets of population by means of two types of anonymous questionnaires. The set of respondents of the non-professional public numbered 208. The research set of the professional public consisted of 53 respondents. The sets were not compared with each other. The objective of the thesis was fulfilled. I view the main contribution of my thesis in pointing at problematic spheres in the society{\crq}s awareness and attitudes, and I suggested possible solutions of the problem as well as starting points from this sphere in the future. The results of my thesis could be used as a feedback for the professional and interested public.
Bullying at Vocational Secondary School in Region Pilsen - Town
KULHÁNKOVÁ, Renata
Bullying at Vocational Secondary School in Region Pilsen {--} Town The problem of bullying has been remaining a hot issue recently. It concerns in particular the increasing number of cases of bullying, decreasing age of the aggressors or persons actively involved in bullying, increased brutality, aggression and inventiveness with which bullying is realized. Bullying is a dangerous socio-pathologic phenomenon, under which in particular personal freedom and freedom of choice are restricted, human dignity and honesty are humiliated and in many cases, damage to health or to property is caused. This can be defined as aggressive behaviour by means of which an aggressor seizes dominance over their victim using physical or mental torture. The aim of an aggressor is to win a feeling of dominance, power or certain advantages over the persons subject to bullying. The goal of my paper was to map the problems relating to bullying at the Secondary Vocational School of Electrical Engineering in Vejprnická ulice No. 56 in Plzeň. For the purpose of the research, the quantitative method of survey in the form of pre-prepared anonymous questionnaires which were distributed on a random basis among the students of the second and third years of the four-year specializations with a graduation exam. The survey was based on 162 respondents. The results show that verbal form of bullying is more frequent than physical one. In particular, it concerns verbal attacks, exposing schoolmates to ridicule, use of offensive language, humiliation, slanders and intrigues. It follows from this that the first three stages of bullying are being realized at the school concerned. The paper proves that it is important to deal with bullying at secondary schools as the students there are criminally liable and thus legally competent to recognize the dangerousness of their acting and to be able to keep their behaviour under control.

HRABĚTOVÁ, Iva

The research was conducted in a primary school in České Budějovice, four classes at the post-primary level were involved. The basic results of my thesis comprise the survey of bullying in some classes with pupils at the post-primary level, the typical manifestations, connections and characteristics of bullying.
Domestic violence as a social problem in České Budějovice district
ŠÍMOVÁ, Ivana
Violence at home, a.k.a. home violence, is a spiraling cycle of brutality committed in private between closely related persons. Such violence can by physical, psychological, sexual, economic or social, with the roles of the attacker and the victim clearly defined and never changing. Anyone can be exposed to home violence, irrespective of her or his social position, education, job, sex, age, religion, or the type of partnership that people live in. Advanced societies have developed a tendency to tackle the issue, and the awareness of the problem has improved. In our country this favorable development is driven primarily by the newly enacted regulations and the keener interest stirred up in the public. The thesis aimed to investigate the general public awareness of home violence within the District of České Budějovice. As followed from the survey, the public living in the District is well aware of the issue. The results showed that as much as 69% of respondents knew about home violence, while the remaining 31% were ignorant of the problem. Hypothesis: Females are better informed about home violence than males - confirmed by comparison between what the women and the men knew about the issue. The difference encountered, however, was just minor. Hypothesis: People living in the District of České Budějovice are not knowledgeable about changes newly passed in Act 135/200 to solve the problem of violence at home - not confirmed. The majority of respondents heard of the Act and were able to specify at least the essential changes it enacted. The change the respondents mentioned most often was the 10 day period of flat-eviction order. It comes as a matter of interest that males were better aware of the Act and could better quote the changes it introduced. Hypothesis: The public accepts as true that home violence is confined to just problem-ridden families - not confirmed. Eighty seven percent of females and 81% of males were convinced that home violence was not limited to only such families. Merely 13% of females and 19% of males believed the home violence was a matter of the problem-ridden families. The survey results showed that the public living in the District of České Budějovice had dropped this myth, i.e. they had not seen the hypothesis as truthful. The thesis can serve as a source of information for the lay public, as a piece of instruction material for the students of the University of South Bohemia, or it could also be given to the Intervention Center to be distributed among the victims of home violence.
