Active management effect on floricolous insect diversity in oakwoods of Thayatal National Park.
PERLÍK, Michal
Two experimental clearings (isolated by dense forest from all sides and connected to medow from one side) and four control plots (medow, dense forest, sparse forest, forest edge ) were established on six localities in Thayatal National Park. Pan traps were used to collect floricolous insects. Diversity of floricolous beetles (coleoptera) have been assessed using multivariate analysis. Effect of active management for diversity conservation is discussed.
Biodiversity of model agroecosystems on the ecological farm in the vicinity of České Budějovice (Lišov)
POJSL, Miroslav
Epigeic beetle communities were studied on three agroecosystems with different crops grown. All three agroecosystems were located in the vicinity of Ceske Budejovice (Lišov). The first eco-agroecosystem was alfalfa field. On the second one was meadow. The third eco-agroecosystem was permanent grassland. The agroekosystems differd not only in crops but also in agrotechnical operations during the capture. For all agroecosystems was for capture of the organisms used method of pitfall traps. Subsequently, those organisms have been studied. Then was studied the measure of human impact on the biodiversity of species of different ecological groups found in these locations.
Analysis of heat shock protein genes expression in spruce bark beetle \kur{Ips typographus} and their importance for survival upon exposure to heat
ŠVEHLOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of this work was to examine the expression of certain Hsp genes upon heat exposure in spruce bark beetle Ips typographus. We determined the level in unstressed and heat-exposed animals, and attempted to assess the importance of Hsp proteins for animals' survival upon heat treatment. We used RNA interference to knock down the expression of these genes, and analyzed the influence on animals exposed to elevated temperatures.
Effect of grazing in submoutain regions on biodiversity of invertebrates - epigeic beetles.
RUTTA, Petr
Ground and rove beetles (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) of NNR Brouskův Mlýn and their use in biomonitoring of habitat state
Boháč, Jaroslav
In the NNR Brouskův Mlýn, there more than 150 species of ground beetle and rove beetle families occure at biotopes of flooded habitats. The species are specialized to flooding.
Beetle assamblages on the monitoring plots of the Boubín massive in the Bohemian Forest and perspectives of long term monitoring of biotopes state
Boháč, Jaroslav ; Matějíček, J.
In 2003 the investigation of beetle fauna by pitfall traping, sifting and individual sampling was carried out in the area of the Boubín Mt. in the Bohemian Forest. During investigation , 98 beetle species were recovered. Forest species prevail in beetle communities (63%),the frequency of ubiquitous species was lower (24%).
Biodiversity of staphylinid beetles (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) in the Bohemian Forest - recent state, endangered species and their biotopes
Boháč, Jaroslav ; Matějíček, J.
More than 300 species of staphylinid beetles were found on 68 lokalities in the Bohemian Forest. 75 (23%) species of the all fauna belong to the Red list of the CR (5 critically endangered species, 27 endangered species and 43 vulnerable species). The most important biotopes for staphylinids in the Bohemian Forest are: petasites fringes of montane brooks, reedes and tall-sedge beds, foret springs, fens and transitional, mires, raised bogs, screes subalpine tall-forb vegetation, meadows and pastures, forest fringe vegetation, montane grey alder galleries, ravine dry pine, beech and spruce forests.
