Critic Emanuel Siblík, Personality and Works

This thesis deals with life and works of an important Czech dance critic and aesthetician, Emanuel Siblík, most of whose active life took place between the World wars. It comprises his professional career and critical work. The first half of the text deal with biographical data and works published, it analyses his intellectual background and his approach to certain changes in the dance art that took place at the time. Second part illustrates his approach on various examples of his articles, shows his style and relationship to concrete dance artists.
Function of Breath

Breath is integral part of dance and human life. The objective of bachelor thesis is to present features of breath that is advisable to realise in dance pedagogic profession, and elements involving breathing. The thesis includes anatomical and physiological description of breath and brief introduction of nerve control of body. Breath is analysed as movement, rhythm, link and energy in the thesis. Taoist vision of breath is source of information for form of breath. Posture and psyche are two main magnitudes that affect breath. Posture, psyche and breath are in permanent contact and we cannot divide them. At the end is possible to find bases of techniques dealing with breath and movement: concentration, imagination, awareness and scheme.
Current Approaches to teaching Dance in selected Prague Institutions

In my thesis I compare three institutions focused on teaching dance. I gained information about these institutions through the research conducted in the form of an interview with representatives of each of them. I also made direct observation. The aim of this thesis was to find current approaches to teaching dance, long -term goals of each institution and priorities of their wards presentation. Total number of pupils, division of classes and specific number of pupils in each class serves for clarity and total conception of each institution. Results then bring concrete idea of the institution.
Games and Rhymes fro pre-school and dance Education

The bachelor thesis mediates a comprehensive view of folk traditions, customs, games, songs and poems with a special focus on motion education in the preschool period and the following first two years at primary schools. The work is divided according to four seasons ? spring, summer, autumn and winter. For each season the basic folk traditions and customs are described, as well as poems and songs, particularly those listed in the collection Czech Year by Karel Plicka. At the end of each section a range of games is indicated that tend to be played throughout the particular season. Folk games constitute the essential part in here as they are the most widespread and popular for education of children in the Czech environment. In case of the majority of games, the own practical insight of the author is provided resulting in a set of teaching recommendations and adaptations of the original games.
Dance education of persons with various kinds of disabilities

Dance education of persons with various kinds of disabilities is not very known and wide-spread. This work deals with the education of persons having physical, mental, or sense disabilities or disadvantages. I am going to describe basic methods of dealing with persons with disabilities, simple techniques of working at the dance hall as well as how to prepare these persons for public performances. The work is divided into eight chapters, in which the reader is introduced to the classification of various disabilities and disorders (according to kind, level, period of appearance), persons with various kinds of disabilities and dealing with them. Possibilities of education and the pedagogic work itself in this branch of dance are listed. The important role of assistants of persons with disabilities during dance lessons and public performances is emphasized. The main part of the thesis is devoted to auxiliary exercises, relaxation, therapy, dance lessons, and public presentations of persons with disabilities. The goal of this work is to provide a text for dance pedagogues to encourage them in situations when a person with a disability is about to attend their lessons. It is important to realize that possible initial doubts are likely to come from fear of unknown that is dispelled soon. Persons with disabilities are very perspicuous and it is rewarding to be working with them.
Home Environment of Students in dance Families

Bachelor thesis "Home environment of students in dance families" describes a family environment where parent?s profession is dance. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first theoretical part are discussed pedagogical and psychological theories about family and children. The second part is based on research that contains abstracts of interviews with Zuzana and Jiří Pokorný and Margarita and Vyacheslav Pleškovi. The goal was to map the environment where are growing up future generations of dancers.
How to properly adjust eating manners for dancer´s life

My master´s thesis is focused on dancers and their eating manners. There is a big range of problems there, I am focusing here on properly feeding adult dancers. Different works are working with the other problems as a feeding adolescent dancers, eating disorders etc. My inspiration for this thesis was proper fueling athletes, because both of them sport as well as a dance are hard physical work, energetic requests on the body are equal.
Application of kinesiologic Knowledge in Technique of Martha Graham (Floor Work)

The technique of Martha Graham is 80 years old. Dance world is constantly evolving forward and looking for to new options how healthy work with your body. I do not want to modernize technique of Martha Graham, but I would like to find optimal conditions for understanding of this dance technique. Therefore, I want to pay compensation and corrective exercise, from which in turn come out in the basic positions and exercises the Martha Graham (floor work). The aim is to draw attention to some weaknesses to the correct implementation of various exercises in the technique of Martha Graham. Important is to prepare a dancers for the better execution of each exercises and further develop the principles of dance technique. Concentrate on the fact that the dancers had learned the correct posture, focusing on the momentum of the pelvis and hips.
How to teach ballroom dancing

The Master thesis follows up on the previous Bachelor thesis title Methodology of traching of the ballroom dancing and it focuses on the second phase of teaching. The thesis engages in describes methodological techniques in teaching individual dances and dance figures within the advanced ballroom dancing courses. Commentaries are included, dealing with potencial problems in teaching and frequent faults.
Nutritional counselling in dance

In this diploma thesis is described the theory of food intake and the specification of its basic components. Based on this information the recommendations for food intake in dance art are summarized at the end of each chapter. The thesis includes the idea about the psychical balance of the dancer to his body and to his food intake and to how this process can be influenced by a teacher of dance. The conclusion of this diploma thesis is a presentation with practical nutritional counselling for dancers. In individual cases it is possible to see different problems with trying to have a balanced intake of food.
