The master's thesis deals with the design of an NZEB kindergarten in Třebíč. The building is single-storey with a flat roof. Next to the building there are 15 parking spaces, 3 of them are for electric car charging. The centre of the building consists of staff facilities and spaces for building services, the rest of the building includes sanitary facilities for children, changing rooms and classrooms. The building is based on a foundation slab that rests on a layer of foam glass granulate. The external masonry is made of ceramic blocks insulated with EPS ETICS. The internal load-bearing and partition masonry is made of unfired clay blocks, which are plastered with clay plaster. The roof structure is made of prefabricated pre-stressed concrete panels, which are sloped outwards. The building is heated by a ground to water heat pump, which will heat the water for underfloor heating, the HVAC unit and hot water distribution. Intelligent LED lighting is installed throughout the building. There are photovoltaic panels on the roof to generate electricity. Rainwater is used for flushing and watering the garden. Furthermore, in my master’s thesis I addressed the possibilities of using rainwater in roof drains to generate electricity. There, I calculate different possibilities and ways to use rainwater as efficiently as possible to generate electricity. A Pelton turbine is used to generate power, which is driven by the force of the water current.
