Interactive Instructional Models of Water Management Structures for Hydro-technical Laboratory of the High School of Civil Engineering in Vysoké Mýto
Požárová, Miroslava ; Kříž,, Lubomír (referee) ; Žoužela, Michal (advisor)
In 2014 a new Hydro-technical laboratory was built at the High School of Civil Engineering in Vysoké Mýto. The laboratory’s hydraulic circuit is equipped with a reserve line enabling independent standing models of hydro-technical structures to be connected. Two interactive instructional models are designed for this laboratory. The first is a model of a concrete dam. The dam is equipped with one bottom outlet, a hydraulic power plant and an emergency spillway crest gate. The discharge part of the model is equipped with a downflow baffle for regulating the tailwater level and a measuring weir enabling the flow rate to be measured at the discharge point from the model. The total capacity of the model is 10 l/s. The second model is a model of a weir structure. The weir structure consists of a controlled segment sluice gate weir composed of three sections. The model includes a one-nave lock chamber and hydraulic power plant. The tailwater level can also be regulated using a downflow baffle. The total capacity of this model is 20 l/s. The models can be used for teaching the subjects of hydraulics, hydrology and hydro-technical structures. They can be used to demonstrate various hydraulic phenomena and to describe individual functional objects using specialist terminology. This thesis contains the full project documentation for both proposed models, including hydro-technical calculations and text appendices.
Influence of plan situating of weir in the prismatic channel on discharging capacity
Lukášek, Petr ; Haluza,, Miloslav (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on determination of plan situating influence of weir discharging capacity. The part of this work is a summary of the information about weirs, principally about determination of discharging capacity on normal weirs, plan deflected and plan radius weirs. Executed model research, which deals with determination of plan situating influence on discharging capacity plan deflected and plan radius weirs in comparison to normal weir, is evaluated in another part of this work. The research is also dealing with influence of aeration of the space under down surface of free jet and influence of downstream water level on discharging capacity. This work compares the results of executed research with available knowledge of other authors, who have dealt with determination of discharging capacity on weirs with different plan situating.
Capacity evaluation of the extremely hydraulically loaded low weirs
Jobánek, Stanislav ; Sehnal, Jan (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with values of overfall discharge coefficients for commonly used types of low weirs. Comparison of their values with values based on established procedures. Determination of low weir capacity at free and submerged overfall.
Design of Inflatable Weir in Oslavany
Kocman, Tomáš ; Moronga, Jan (referee) ; Uhmannová, Hana (advisor)
This thesis describes the current state of the river Oslava in Oslavany design and reconstruction of the existing fixed weir in the affected location. As a best alternative reconstruction of the existing fixed weir reconstruction was chosen the hard threshold floating weir inflatable weirs. The next part of the thesis describes the proposed solution, and the last part of the thesis deals with the assessment of the proposed solutions.
Design of the gated weir
Trněný, Michal ; Uhmannová, Hana (referee) ; Julínek, Tomáš (advisor)
The Bachelor Thesis deals with the design of rekonstruction of the uncontrolled weir ´´Kamenny mlyn“ on the river Svratka to a new gate weir structure. The first part focuses on teoretical intro and the processing of data on the area of interest and the selection of appropriate design solution for the reconstruction of the weir, where there are described several types of movable gate. At the end of this part the current condition of the buildings and the channel of the Svratka river in the area of interest is evaluated. In the second part, the Thesis deals with the design of the gate weir structure and its subsequent assessment. At first, the solid substructure and the height of the gate is designed and assessed. Subsequently, the stilling basin is designed and in conclusion, the overall stability of the designed structure is assessed.
The renewal of the weir and hydropower plant Hlubočky
Hajda, Jindřich ; Rainer, Vít (referee) ; Říha, Jaromír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of weir and small hydroelectric power plant in lokality Hlubočky-Dukla. This thesis is dividend into two parts: a text and drawings. The text part is further dividend into three main chapters – technical report, hydro-technical and hydro-energy calculations and photos. Technical report deals with description of the site and the propřed technical solution. The individual step sof the design described by hydro-calculations. Photo documentation illustrates the current state.
Gate weir design
Betlach, František ; Uhmannová, Hana (referee) ; Julínek, Tomáš (advisor)
The Bachelor Thesis deals with the study of the existing uncontrolled weir on the river Svitava in "Cacovice island" locality and with the design of a new gate weir structure. The first part focuses on the processing of data on the area of interest and the selection of appropriate design solution for the reconstruction of the weir, where there are described several types of adjustable shutters. At the end of this part the current condition of the buildings and the bed of the Svitava river in the area of interest is evaluated. In the second part, the Thesis deals with the design of the gate weir structure and its subsequent assessment. At first, the solid substructure and the height of the shutter is designed and assessed. Subsequently, the stilling basin is designed and in conclusion, the overall stability of the designed structure is assessed.
Influence of plan radius on discharging capacity of weir
Lukášek, Petr ; Haluza,, Miloslav (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on plan radius weirs. The part of this work is also summary of the information about weirs, principally about plan radius weirs. Executed model research, dealing with determination of influence of plan radius on discharging capacity of these weirs in comparison to straight weir, is evaluated in another part of this work. The research is also dealing with the effect of design of a spillway channel on capacity of the weir. This work compares the results of executed research with results of other authors, who are dealing with plan radius morning glory spillway.
Design of Flood Protection City Prostejov
Juráňová, Barbora ; Zedníček, Jiří (referee) ; Uhmannová, Hana (advisor)
The target of the bachelor’s thesis is appraisal of existing flood protection in Prostějov and design of new measures for environmental protection. The thesis applies one’s mind of appraisal and design flood protection on river Hloučela.
Dangerous Points along the River Otava
BENEDIKT, Ondřej
Dangerous Points along the River Otava I have chosen the Bachelor Thesis done on the theme Dangerous points along the river Otava because of my strong affection for professional canoeing as well as ordinary canoe paddling on rivers. Each river has its own victims either due to underestimating high level of the water during spring melting or after heavy rainstorms, or just because of the frivolity when descending rivers during nice summer days. Most of injuries and accidents occur at river blocks as weirs and their water gates, subsidiary weirs, and rapids. I suppose these water blocks, mostly artificial ones, to be the most difficult and dangerous points along the entire length of the river. The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to draw attention of common canoeists as well as professional rescue bodies to particular dangerous points on the river Otava. First chapter is concerning the description of the river Otava in various terms as for instance the nature of the flow, its difficulty and how it is runnable. Further, I have described basic, the most important protective, and rescue equipment. The outcomes of my thesis describe dangerous places I have chosen and the ways of passing them. There were described over 36 points and 5 of them determined as the most dangerous that shall ever be avoided by canoeists at any water level. There were also explained ways of self-rescuing and some other ways of team cooperation rescue. I proposed first aid solutions in case of various injuries or health problems based on rescuing, first aid and subsequent calling for professional help. I expect my experience related to descents of rivers and water rescuing to be of help to beginners as well as to experienced canoeists to avoid problems when experiencing other troubles on the river Otava.
