Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of: Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Consultant: PharmDr. Pavel Ondrejček, Ph.D Student: Lenka Rumlerová Title of Thesis: The effect of rice extract on the compressibility and mechanical properties of microcrystalline cellulose tablets. This thesis deals with influence of rice extract, as a new kind of glidant on compressibility of microcrystalline celulose as a model filler. Furthermore it evaluates the impact of rice extract on tablet properties. Effects of rice extract were compared with two standard glidants - magnesium stearate and colloidal silicon dioxide. As first the influence of diferent glidants concetrations on flow properties of mixtures were assesed. Tablets were compresed using three different compression forces. A force- displacement record was used to evaluate the compressibility of microcrystalline cellulose and its mixtures with glidants. Subsequently, the properties of tablets were evaluated. The radial strenght, abrasion, and tablet disintegration time were measured. The results revealed that the rice extract has the least effect on mixtures flow poperties. However, all mixtures showed a statistically significant improvement in flowability. When using a 1 % rice extract, the flow properties of the...

Havlíková, Natálie ; Ondrejček, Pavel (advisor) ; Svačinová, Petra (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradci Králové Department of: Pharmaceutical technology Consultant: PharmDr. Pavel Ondrejček, Ph.D. Student: Natálie Havlíková Title of Thesis: The effect of particle size on lactose compressibility It is known that the particle size of the compressed material plays an important role in the manufacture of tablets. It affects the properties of intermediate and final products. In this thesis the properties of tablets made of two lactose types, which were used as model fillers, were studied. These were Tablettose® 80 and Lactopress® Anhydrous. In both lactose types, five sieved size fractions of the particle size ranging from 9 to 346µm and their original unsieved mixture were used. The compaction forces ranging from 2 to 10kN were used for tablet preparation. Magnesium stearate was used for external lubrication. The evaluation of the prepared tablets was done mainly by using the pharmacopoeial methods. The evaluated parameters were friability, disintegration time and hardness. Furthermore, the elasticity of the tablets and the evaluation using the force-displacement method parameters were assessed. From the results of this work, it is not possible to unambiguously determine the advantage of one particular fraction size in the comparison to the...

The Use of the Touchscreen Technologies in German Language Teaching
BERKOVCOVÁ, Martina
This thesis deals with the use of mobile touch technologies in German language teaching. The theoretical part of the work collects basic facts and knowledge about mobile touch devices, which are important as a didactic tool. Furthermore, the work on the theoretical level deals with information on teaching applications and teaching methods in which these touch technologies can be used. The Practical part of the work is devoted to the results of the research survey, namely the questionnaire research survey and the results from a sample lesson. The questionnaire survey revealed that mobile touch technologies are not widely distributed in schools and are not widely used during lessons. This thesis seeks to give readers a comprehensive description of the possibilities of didactic and methodical use of mobile touch devices in the teaching of German language.

The influence of modern technologies on teaching geography
Firlová, Veronika ; Hanus, Martin (advisor) ; Fikarová, Veronika (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to ascertain on the basis of the qualitative research how are tablet computers used in geography lessons, what positive and negative aspects are found and if using of the tablet computers can influence a conception of geography lessons. The main aim is achieved by doing qualitative interviews with lower secondary teachers of geography. To achieve the main aim it as initially necessary to achieve artial aims. Firstly, the term modern technology was defined. Afterwards, the specific technology which will be examined in this diploma thesis in relation to a change the way of teaching was described. The description of pros and cons of utilization of tablet computers in classes was used in the creation of the scenario for the interview. Each teacher can influence teaching with his own approach as well as his attitude, which is involved in the preparation of lessons and the choice of using tablet computers. Essential partial aim is to describe the qualitative research after which the questionnaire could be created and interviews performed and evaluated. Based on the results it could be stated that teachers use the tablet computers in two ways The first way is the usage of computer application to revise the subject matter. This way of using the tablet computers does not influence...

It also revealed, that the frequency of usage tablets in foreign language teaching was quite low, but the pupils perceived it as sufficient.
Modern technology from the viewpoint of a secondary school teacher (from 6th grade to 9th grade)
Doležel, Radim ; Syřiště, Ivo (advisor) ; Duschinská, Karolina (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I deal with taking advantage of using modern technology, as about important form of modern education, and how often do teachers involve modern technology in education in general. I concern myself with different types of modern technologies, their usage and how they can be engaged into education. Among other issues, I mention also educational projects "Vzdělávání 21" or "Škola dotykem" which pursue using modern technologies in teaching. I speak also about on-line technology which is an indivisible part of modern technology in common. I compare advantages and disadvantages of engaging these technologies into tuition and I try to present a comprehensive view on this issue. Method section concentrates on the results from the research questionnaire where I mostly investigated the relationship between the teacher and modern technology. I asked schoolteachers whether these technologies are supportive of them or they are just an obstacle in educational process, which technologies are they familiar with and if the teachers actively use the technology in their classes. Nevertheless, research questions included the viewpoint on how the technology determines some of the characteristics of the pupils in class.
