The chapter also discusses the importance and use of biomass as energy source, characteristic of various types of biomass and finally is mentioned the future of biomass. In the third chapter ?Selection and cultivation of plants for energy recovery? summarizes the information about selected woody and non-woody crops characteristic for energy use. It is these crops - grains, maize, fast growing woody plants, monocultures of grass, clover mixture, monoculture legumes, herbs, permanent grassland: the productive and out of productive importance. For individual crops are processed: general characteristics of plants, botanical classification, requirements for habitat, agricultural engineering, harvesting and post harvest treatment. Below are listed possibilities of production and outlined the use of crops for energy purposes. The fourth chapter deals with the ways of using biomass for energy purposes. By using wood, straw and energy crops for direct combustion of biomass to produce biogas and other forms of exploitation. Finally in the fifth chapter is a summary of key findings and recommendations resulting from studying issue, extended tables and graphical processing.
The design of the production of biogas from fresh grass.
ŽIVNÝ, Jakub
Work is concered with the biogas production from the fresh grass mass, which come up when the grass is being cut on regular basis in the parks and side parts of communities and cities. There is a detailed description of the biogas production defined in the beginning of the Theses in the literature overview. Next, we define the material properties suitable for the biogas production, concerning on the grass mass. In practice, there is a prototype example showing how the biogas station could manipulate the fresh grass mess in real, linked to the harvest line.

GLASER, Tomáš
This diploma work refers to the subject the Confrotation of an alternative energy in rural and urban teritorry in south bohemia region and the real potential of EU support for the use of alternative sources of alternative energy. Comparing the situation in urban and rural population and the strategy of alternative energy sources.
Assessment of energy crop cultivation in terms of erosion
POLÁKOVÁ, Monika
The aim of thesis is to assess and evaluate how energy crops affect erosion phenomena, then identify a suitable alternative crop that has anti-erosion ability. Location is evaluated in detail Trebon, as cultivation areas suitable for Phytoenergetics and biogas. Furthermore, I studied agricultural biogas plant that uses biomass as input for biogas production. To evaluate and calculate erosion parameters for a given locality the method of universal soil loss equation by Wishmeier and Smith, and the value showed crops causing erosion. The calculated values are related to locations all over the South Region. Thanks to the universal equation it is possible to find alternative crops, which cause erosion and both are suitable for biogas production.
Utilization of Zea mays L. for energetic effects
RATAJ, David
This bachelor thesis deals with the types of energy use of flint corn (Zea mays). It compares the suitability of hybrid maize lines. The thesis is to summarize and compare the literature data on other types of energy crops and compares them suitable for cultivation for energy recovery on the basis of some production capacity and energy parameters (dry matter yield, energy recovery, combustion heat and humidity).
Assessment of use of graminoid stands for biogas production
RYCHTEROVÁ, Jana
The MSc. Thesis is part of project No. 2B06131 of the National Research Programme of the Czech Republic. The aim of the work was to assess selected herbaceous stands in repsct to their use for biogas production. A working hypothesis was set as follows: The biogas production per unit organic matter does not differ between biomass coming from different types of grasslands/biotopes. The results support the hypothesis. The sites studied were located in altitudes from 400 to 800 m a.s.l., water availavility ranged from mesexerophytic to hydrophytic conditions and nutrient availability ranged from mesooligotrophic to eutrophic conditions. According to plant species composition, the stands corresponded to stand types Alopecuretum pratense, Phalaridetum, Poetum pratense, Arrhenatheretum elatioris, Festucetum pratense and the ruderal stand type. In spite of these differences, biogass production estimated according to ZIFO was very similar for all stands, i.e. in a range of 518 {--} 546 NL biogas per kg organic substances in dry matter and had almost identical methan content. The results indicate that, in assessment of suitability of herbaceous stands for biogass production, biomass production is of greater importance than plant species composition.
Energy use of phytomass in the South Bohemia Region
NEJEDLÁ, Alice
This bachelor thesis focuses on energetic use of phytomass in the Southern Bohemia. There was identified real and potential production of biomass in the Czech Republic and in the Southern Bohemia. According to the information acquired from literature, internet and questionnairy research there was identified volume of use of energetic sources and biomass deliberately cultivated in Southern Bohemia for energetic use. The results of this research show that Czech Republic meets the commitment to cover 6% of energetic consumption by renewable energy source ? it even reached 8%. Southern Bohemia produces 4,5% of all renewable energy sources of the Czech republic. The research shows that there is a lack of biomass in the Czech Republic, that is why it must be produced by growing energy crops (PEP) and fast growing woods (RRD). Energy crops produces in the Czech Republic are: Sorrel Feed, Miscanthus Chinese, Knotweed, Reed Canary Grass, Hemp, Sorghum. As fast growing woods there are willows and poplars recommended. The most of the renewable energy sources in Southern Bohemia is represented by biomass and its combustion. Its potential is huge, mostly the waste of wood processing ? sawdust and wooden chips, is the most used fuel. Energetic use of biomass has a good perspective in Southern Bohemia. There is still unused waste from logging and straw in agricultural production. There is still hidden potential in growing energy crops and fast growing woods. The development is defended especially by economic reasons and state financial support.
Possible utilization of grass material
KOBERNA, Daniel
The objective if this degree work is creating a survey of possible uses of surplus grass material which is caused by animal farming reduction and by bringing the ground in less fertile areas of our country to a standstill. In the work possible uses of the grass are described, especially its use in the energy industry as a fuel source for the production of heat and biogas. Classical usage of the grass material as a food source for livestock or for the production of compost is described here as well. Examples are shown there of energy kinds of grass, which seems to be a promising renewable resource of biomass for favourable economic results. The harvest of the grass material and its consequent prossesing is done by production lines, that is why a survey of such lines and their economic figures connected with the operation of these machines is also included in this work. The economic part of this work contains many formulae that can be used for counting out all the costs connected with the operation of the grass harvest machine and for evaluating the effectiveness of the return on investment into this machine
