Health and social impacts of alternate care for children at primary school
KRÁSNÁ, Jana
Social impacts of an alternative care for a child younger than the school age In present days, the divorce is considered to be a very good solution to every disharmony in the marriage. Therefore I consider very necessary to deal with children who come from divorced families because they are affected by a disintegration of their family the most. Especially children want the most of all to have the family as before and to continue to have both beloved parents, father and mother and not to lose them. In my bachelor thesis I therefore focused on an issue of the alternative care. This option appeared in the court practice 13 years ago by an amendment of the Family Act. Its purpose is to keep present both parents and the extended family for the child. This type of care should therefore closely reflect the needs of the child as much as possible. The aim of my bachelor thesis was to determine effects of the alternative care for child younger than school age and whether the alternative care meets the child´s needs better than a sole custody of one parent. Among the interviewees I examined what they consider to be positives and what are negatives of the alternative care. The respondents were staff of institutions of the social and legal protection from individual towns of the Czech Republic, then psychologists and parents who have some experience in the alternative care. To collect the data I used a method of the quantitative distribution of the anonymous questionnaires which were compiled from the questions I had prepared for the interview. In that way the sent questionnaires are very similar to the interviews. The research results that have been evaluated by a qualitative method are as follows: Respondents find as the positive impact of the alternative care the keeping of both parents. On the contrary the evaluated negative impact is a frequent migration and an unstable environment for the child. The most commonly used and tested interval for the alternation is one-week´s interval. The considered positives of the alternative care are especially in an active presence of both parents in the upbringing of the child and also its better readiness for a partner life and a better coping with the divorce. The frequent change of the child´s environment is again referred as negative. Furthermore, the results indicate that the child´s needs should be met through the alternative care similarly like they are in a family.

Parental Alienation Syndrome and its Solution in the Czech republic.
BENEDIKTOVÁ, Miloslava
Parental Alienation Syndrome and its Solution in the Czech Republic Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) is the psychic disorder that is present in children resulting from indoctrination coming from one parent towards a child when the child develops own scenario of belittling and rejecting the other parent without reasons and justification. The Bachelor Work focuses on Parental Alienation Syndrome and its solution in the Czech Republic. It consists of the two major parts. The theoretical part briefly describes terms related to the problems of PAS and provides some options of its solution. In the second empirical part, I have focused on gaining the information of the current situation of dealing with the issue by workers at Social Departments in the communities with extended sphere of authority in the South Bohemia Region. It was the first goal. The second goal was to locate all the institutions, currently dealing with the solution of PAS in the South Bohemia Region. I decided to use one sample group and to achieve the goals, I chose the quantitative research. Further, I applied requesting method with using the questionnaire. I also set two hypotheses in correlation with the goals of the research. I set the hypotheses using the knowledge gained through my working experience of a worker in children{\crq}s social and legal protection area. The results of the research show that social workers of Municipal Authorities are familiar with PAS theoretically and they select forms of its solution according to their own knowledge. The range of forms for solving the issue also depends on their working experience gained through work with individual clients. There was created a list of current institutions dealing with the issue on the base of results coming from the questionnaire that could be useful for social workers of Municipal Authorities in general practice. Both goals were achieved. The Hypothesis H1 was stated as following: The workers of social-legal system protecting children are dealing with Parental Alienation Syndrome. Our finding showed that the workers explain parents the possibilities of solving the issues legally, perform easy form of intermediation with both of parents, and interview the parent indoctrinating the child, and sometimes they interview the child as well. They also recommend parents to contact some professional institution. Hypothesis H1 was confirmed. Hypothesis H2 was stated as following: Parental Alienation Syndrome is being solved in professional consulting institutions. All social workers recommend the parents to look for a help of some professional institution and most of workers received positive feedback about solving the problem at the place. The hypothesis H2 was confirmed. The Bachelor Work was supposed to show if, and which way the workers of Municipal Authorities in the South Bohemia Region are involved in solving the issue of Parental Alienation Syndrome. The results are addressed to professional communities and to all persons concerned with this psychosocial and legal issue.
Divorce situations of families with children of school age from the point of view of specialists dealing with divorce problems.
MIKULOVÁ, Radka
The number of divorced families has been continually increasing and the Czech society accepts such families with dependent children tolerantly. Nowadays we know that a family with both parents but full of violence is much worse for children than living with a single parent. Psychosocial development of children growing in incomplete families thus does not have to be marked negatively. Despite that, in most cases a breakdown of a marriage with children is perceived as a hard and frustrating situation. And all the involved parties need to cope, particularly with the failure and loss in their lives. The objective of the thesis was to map attitudes of workers of the department of social and legal protection of children, marriage and family counselors, crisis and emergency centers and other professionals to the divorce situation of families with children in school age. Partial objectives of the thesis included mapping of opinions of the workers about the shared custody, experience of professionals with family mediation and determination whether the professionals are offered possibilities of further education. The views of the professionals were collected by means of a questionnaire survey conducted in January, February and March. 415 questionnaires were distributed at random. The research group consisted of 99 returned questionnaires. The individual categories of professionals did not demonstrate any significant differences in their attitudes to the shared custody. Divorce mediation was viewed as a suitable method for resolution of family disputes. The research has also shown that the professional community is offered sufficient opportunities of further education. According to the responding professionals, incomplete (divorced) families are capable of ensuring successful development of the children. The professionals concurred particularly on the opinion that each divorce situation needs to be approached individually.

Joint physical custody after divorce and its influence on members of family
RUBEŠOVÁ, Lenka
My thesis deals with the issue of educational environment of minor children after their parents´ divorce. I focused on joint physical custody, which means that each of the parents shall have significant periods of physical custody, i.e. more or less continuing contact with children. Legal institution of joint physical custody was introduced to the legal practice in the Czech Republic in 1998, when the amendment of the Family Act was adopted. Unfortunately, joint physical custody is not often used in practice and experts do not even share the same opinion of this phenomenon. If joint physical custody is chosen as educational environment for minors, big claims are posed both on parents and their children. The objective of my work was to find out, how joint physical custody works in concrete families with minors at the age of 6 to15, and whether parents and children are satisfied with this family arrangement. Partial objectives were to find out what are the most frequently used periods of physical custody {--} how many days the minor lives with one parent before he/she leaves to live with the other one; whether such family arrangement influences minors´ school attendance and quality of communication within the family. A qualitative research, the polling method and the technique of a half-standardized interview have been applied. In the framework of the research, interviews with parents and their children in five families with joint physical custody were carried out.The results showed, that the arrangement of joint physical custody has been working in these families for several years and that the polled family members are mostly satisfied. Most frequently used period of living with one of the parents is a one week period, and Friday is usually the day of moving from one parent to the other. If parents are able to cooperate and communicate well with each other, there is not even a problem with school attendance. All members of the families agreed that they are able to communicate well with each other. The results of my thesis might be used by counselling services that are provided for divorcing couples and all the facts and information about experience with joint physical custody might help to those parents who consider such family arrangement.
