Respiration of spiders during satiation and starvation
KRAUS, Roman
I raised the young spiders breeders known species Lasiodora parahybana a stage suitable for the target work. The goal is to measure and graphically express the consumption of oxygen (O2) and record the value of spiders saturated metabolism during starvation. 37 days, I measured 20 spiders in 2 batches in Warburg respirometer. The spiders after some time has been to regulate metabolism and to the values of its viability. The resulting value is visible decrease in metabolism and weight loss.
Blood values of sheep at a defined intake of selenium and iodine
KOCÁBOVÁ, Ivana
The theoretical part is concerned with the functional application of selenium and iodine supplementation methods, risks disproportionate to their income, including changes in biochemical and hematological parameters and evaluation methods of adequate saturation. The practical part analyzes the results of experiments on sheep with a defined content of selenium and iodine in the ration evaluation of selected indicators of the metabolic profile of ewes and their lambs. The results are processed statistically. It reflected the dynamics and interactions of monitored parameters.
A role of adipokinetic hormones in insect lipid metabolism
BÁRTŮ, Iva
This PhD. thesis summarizes the effect of adipokinetic hormones (AKHs) on a spectrum of mobilized lipids in model insect species the locust Locusta migratoria and the firebug Pyrrhocoris apterus. The results revealed that mobilization of diacylglycerols and fatty acids from the fat body into the haemolymph is not uniform and suggested there is partial specificity of individual AKHs. This could contribute to the answer of the question why some insect species have more than one AKH. The results of the thesis are supplemented by studies of AKH effect on lipid metabolism in stress conditions elicited by insecticide treatments. Co-application of AKH and insecticide enhanced the effect of insecticide
Metabolism of B.vagans during satiation and starvation
DENKOVÁ, Adéla
The aim of the work was to introduce an extraordinary ability of Brachypelma vagans: survive some time of starvation by regulation its own metabolism to minimum. The oxygen consumption for body mass unit was measured for 576 hours for each of eleven objects. Results were placed into the tabs and graphs and were rated. During the experiment were lost four objects because of starvation and alcaly burn.
COMPARATIVE STUDY OF FOOD SUPPLEMENTS USED ON THE ACTIVITY OF KINETIC ENDURANCE CHARAKTER APPLIED AS A CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES PREVENTION
DIČE, Michal
The aim of this thesis is to compare food supplements used on the activity of endurance character and their influence on the cardiovascular system. The teoretical part is pursued to the basic food components and their metabolism and to kinetic activities splitting. The practical part gives information about splitting of sports supplements used on the activity of endurance character, their usage and effects. It deals with the question of human organism behaviour during the strain of endurance character and how the food supplements help to regenerate the human body. Further, it presents a food supplements overview according to their focus and their effect on the human organism during the strain of endurance character. Finally, the summary states which of the specific food supplements are the most optimal for the strain of endurance character.
Analysis of the role of PilA proteins in the cyanobacterium \kur{Synechocystis} sp. PCC 6803.
LINHARTOVÁ, Markéta
The PilA proteins are major components of pili fibres which are essential for motility in bacteria. This project was focused on the role of the PilA proteins in cyanobacteria, specifically in the alternative functions that are not directly related to motility. The major task of this project was also to develop a method for the purification of the PilA1 protein from Synechocystis under native conditions and to analyze purified PilA1 protein in detail.
The problems of the sick with hyperlipidemia and the influence of this disease on their life
DOUSKOVÁ, Renata
Hyperlipidemia means elevated content of lipids in the blood. The work was aimed at problems of the patients with hyperlipidemia, and at the influence of the illness on their lifestyle. The work consists of a theoretical part and a practical survey. The research took place in specialized surgeries at the Railway Hospital Prague. Two hypotheses were proposed on the basis of the theoretical part, and neither of them was affirmed. The results acquired on the basis of the questionnaire research will be given to the specialized surgeries where the survey took place. The aim has been fulfilled because of the fact that hyperlipidemia influences the lifestyle of patients.
