The concept evaluation of horse nutrition
SEDLÁKOVÁ, Kristýna
The paper evaluates the system of feeding and nutrition of horses. It deals with the importance and energy requirement, the importance of individual nutrients, minerals and vitamins, and technology feed horses, which is aimed at sports and feeding of older horses. The thesis focuses on the evaluation representation of nutrients in the rations for horses and their comparison with the standard nutrient for horses. The monitored parameters are: dry matter, digestible energy, crude protein, digestible crude protein, fiber, calcium and phosphorus. The need for those nutrients in rations met. The film shows an increased proportion of calcium, phosphorus, and digestible crude protein, which is still with in tolerance.
Testing the performance of warm-blooded horses
VOKROUHLÍKOVÁ, Jana
The work deals with the evaluation of performance testing of warm-blooded horses. Testing the performance takes place at several levels, what is also documented in detail in the text. There are described the various methods of performance testing as the means of testing the performance warmblood horses in the Czech Republic. These methods include pre-selection of stallions for breeding, performance testing of stallions and mares, breeders competitions for young horses and the Czech Championship of young horses, sports testing, and progeny testing. This work examines the system of performance tests and compares it with systems of organizing mare performance tests in other European countries. Finally, all the above mentioned methods are evaluated and discussed.
Assessment of traning and health status of sport horses
HŮLKOVÁ, Lenka
The aim of this thesis was a literature research on the training of sport horses - its importance, methods and procedures, and assessing the health of horses and their use in various sporting disciplines. The paper defines the basic concepts related to training horses and distinguished the different methods of training (continuous, interval, AC). Separate attention is paid to the selection of horses for various sports disciplines and basic procedures of training used by the preparation of these horses. It also mentioned the selection of race horses and training methods for racehorses. Health assessment process involves a horse in identifying the fundamental values of physiological body functions. In this work, conclusions are formulated as recommendations for breeders of horses.
Behaviour of horses in changing environment
PÁNOVÁ, Kateřina
With the sport use of horses are increasing demands on their capacity for learning and mental abilities and therefore the ability to adapt and learn is very important. In this study, the ability to learn was studied on seven horses of different age and breed with maze method. Horses dealt with five mazes. At the end of the maze, the horses were rewarded with a treat. Two horses were taken before the end of the study so they have not participated in fifth maze. Instead of them, another horse was provided as a control horse. The exact time and response (vocalization, shyness,...) of each horse was recorded. Reactivity was assessed on the scale 0 ? non-reactive, 1 - very little reactive, 2 - less reactive 3 - reactive, 4 - very reactive. Each task was performed in three consecutive days. There was a 14-day period between each task. There was proven, that some individuals have managed to learn during progress of each task and improved their mental performance. On the other hand, some individuals have not shown the ability to learn. The results show that the ability to learn is an individual process. The time spent in the maze also depends on surrounding disturbing factors.
Life symptoms of stallions and mares
KOREŠOVÁ, Michaela
The farm, where I have watched ethological behaviour, is next to CHKO Blanský les, near the small town Lhenice. The farm is engaged in breeding of horses. The basic herd is created with warm-blooded mares of Netolice´s breeding. The aim of ethological watching was to recognize basic symptoms of behaviour of horses in their natural conditions during pasture season. These symptoms were watched in the herd of 20 mares (barren, advanced stage of pregnancy and mares with foals) and in the one of 9 stallions and 2 geldings. Everything was conducted during four of 24-hours cycles during pasture season 2008 inside each of the herds. It was recognized, that horses most of their time were accepting their fodder. The time of feeding depended on quality of the pasture fodder and at the temperature of the air. Mares spent the longest time with feeding. It was 63.84 % of the day. The stallions spent with feeding 58.90 % of the day. At the end of their pasture season in September, but it is quite normal, because the quality of pasture is during the second part of pasture season much worse. The rest, as laying and standing depended on the time, that was needed for satisfying with pasture. The longest time for have a rest was watched during the month of Juni {--} 42.50 % of the day and 46.47 % of the day during August, when the parture was the richest and temperature the highest. Moving activity was much better inside the stallion´s herd. The conflict behaviour was the same inside the both of herds and aggressive behaviour was watched during the social fighting for relationships inside both of herds.
Genetic basement of coat colour of horses
BALCAROVÁ, Anna
The aim of my bachelor work was to develop a literary study of the genetic foundation of color in horses. I outlined the principles of heredity by Mendel laws. I described the characteristics of individual colors and genes that influence them. Genes that affect the color of horses are becoming more and are constantly new. So I devoted to genes that have been characterized and described. I have mentioned but a few of those that have not been clarified.
