Project of a non-profit organisation providing social-active service for families with children
GARAIOVÁ, Veronika
I described topics related to the title of the thesis in its theoretical part and in that way I made a comprehensive survey focused on the social fieldwork in families. The first target of the thesis was - to learn the experience of some chosen non-profit-making organizations which deliver socially activating services to families with children. The qualitative research, the method of questioning and the technique of semi-standardized interview were used for achieving my objective. The same kinds of research, method and technique were used for achieving my second objective, i.e. - to map the status of delivering socially activating services to families with children in the South Bohemia region which realize saving of families. I carried out two kinds of interviews; the first one - in non-profit-making organizations; the second one - with some OSPOD{\crq}s women-workers in České Budějovice. The set aims were fulfilled. Then, on the base of the detected data, I formulated my findings. My findings confirmed that the experience of organizations which deliver socially activating services to families with children is consistent. Employees of non-governmental non-profit-making organizations indicated that the functioning of their organizations is successful and that they cope with their purposes and aims. The women-workers of OSPOD concurred in their statements that the kind of work with families seemed beneficial and the women-workers were open for cooperation with organizations in that field, which is an important aspect for those organizations. The current situation in delivering socially activating services to families with children in the South Bohemia region is not unsatisfactory, but it is not fully cowered yet. There is no organization fully focused on the saving of families, especially in some border areas of the region. My interviews contributed to the creation of my project design of a non-governmental, non-profit-making organization. On the base of the project design socially activating services (fieldwork form) for families with children in the South Bohemia region could be realized (under the law No. 108/2008 of Collection of Law {--} Social Services Act). In this way the project is the practical output of my thesis and it can be used for the creating of an organization focused on the saving of families in the South Bohemia region. The project and its implementation expect cooperation with experts qualified in that field. If the project is realized, the number of socially activating services in the South Bohemia region will increase and the only organization focused wholly on the saving of families will be created.

Education and integration of people from disadvantaged social groups focusing on the Roma minority in the Tabor region.
ŘEHÁKOVÁ, Lenka
The Czech Republic belongs to countries with a high (absolute and relative) number of Roma population. This population performs one of the most populous minority in the Czech Republic. Nevertheless a great part of this ethnic lives at the edge of the society. Low education, resulting in high unemployment and then in dependance on doles and allowances are supposed to be main causes of this situation. There are lots of various nonprofit organizations which focus on education and integration of this ethnic. The attitude to education of this ethnic may be considered as discriminated. The aim of this thesis is to map a net of organizations dealing with Roma population problems and compare these organizations in their abilities to obtain funds. Mainly I wanted to compare success of Roma and non-Roma organisations in obtaining grants and subsidies. Furthemore I wanted to find out whether potential clients - Roma ihabitants - know about these organisations. Two main hypotheses were set according to the aim . The first hypothesis supposed that Roma organisations are less successful in obtaining funds. The second one supposed that Roma community in the town of Tábor is not familiar with the existence of organizations dealing with Roma problems. To prove the first hypothesis I used a method of data secondary analysis, basicly from an annual register of chosen organisation and from grant proceeding results. To prove the second hypothesis two quantitative research work were performed via a method of directed interview created for needs of this Bachellor thesis (encl. 1,2). Data were being collected from 23 January to 11 April 2008. Another method used for my thesis was questionnaire (enc. 3) processed in February 2008. Results of the research work confirmed that Roma organisation is less successful than both non- Roma organisations. In the estimated period {\clqq}Verdan`` organisation from the chosen organisations obtained the lowest funds and its success in per cent was lower than in compare with non-Roma organisations. The second hypothesis was not confirmed. More than a half of respondents know at least one of the organisations dealing with Roma problems. This topic has not been dealt with in the area of Tábor. Results of my thesis may be helpful for organisations providing services to Roma community. To achieve this goal, my thesis will be presented at the web sites of the town of Tábor.
Funding of non-profit organization of consumer protection
KLICPEROVÁ, Markéta
The topic of this thesis is Financing of Non-profit Organisations in Consumer Protection. Its aim was to analyse forms and possibilities of financing non-profit organisations in this area and to compare consumer protection in the Czech Republic and in selected EU countries. The first part of the thesis contains a literary search that defines non-governmental non-profit organisations (NPOs) in general, their visions, functions, aims and position in market economy. Furthermore, it describes the system of consumer protection in the Czech Republic, introduces particular organisations working in this sector and outlines their financial management and fund-raising. Czech consumer sector is compared to consumer sectors of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Slovak Republic. They differ from the Czech Republic especially in tax assignments system and in higher degree of governmental support. The following practical part analyses the forms of financing non-governmental non-profit organisations in consumer protection sector in two ways. The first one examines data from annual reports of three selected consumer protection NPOs. The other one analyses primary data from questionnaires completed by the same selected organisations. The results of the two forms of examination, independent of each other, confirmed the fact that consumer protection NPOs are forced to function with insufficient funding, the amount of which fluctuates year by year, having a tendency to decrease. A tendency to grow can only be observed with a few types of income sources, such as membership fees and private donations. One of the selected organisations makes earnings from its own activities a substantial part of its revenues. On the contrary, grants from Ministry of Industry and Trade show a tendency to decrease in the long term. To support the research, a questionnaire for consumers was analysed in practical part of this thesis. It was aimed to examine consumers´ awareness of activities, importance and funding of consumer protection NPOs and their willingness to financially support these organisations. The questionnaire analysis yielded a clear result that the public is not sufficiently informed of the function and importance of consumer protection NPOs, and this fact brings low willingness to participate on running or financing these organisations in general. To conclude, there is a relation between poor awareness of the public, not able to appreciate the value of NPOs, and long-lasting underfunding of these organisations as the outsiders of public interest. The reasons for this situation can be seen in combination of several factors: development of civil society being interrupted by decades of totalitarian regime, generally low public interest in community activities, lack of information about this part of community life, poor access to information about these organisations, vague conception of NPOs´ Public Relations and their insufficient cooperation with the media, and last but not least, unsystematic governmental support.

Fundraising is the process of soliciting and gathering money or other gifts in-kind, by requesting donations from individuals, businesses, charitable foundations, or governmental agencies. Although fundraising typically refers to efforts to gather funds for not-for-profit organizations, it is sometimes used to refer to the identification and solicitation of investors or other sources of capital for for-profit enterprises. Fundraising is not the primary way that non-profit organizations obtain the money for their operations. These operations can involve a very broad array of concerns such as religious or philanthropic groups such as research organizations, public broadcasters, and political campaigns. A Capital Campaign is when fundraising is conducted to raise major sums for a building or endowment. Special events are another method of rasing funds. This thesis can be used as an educational stuff for the people, whose are interested in NGO´s and methods of fundraising.
