Creating a computational model for stress-strain analysis of parts of generator
Sedláček, Radek ; Fučík, Karel (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis focuses on creating of a computational model for stress-strain analysis of parts of a generator. Computational model is parametric and it allows use of various geometric variants of the shaft and rotor lamination. Parametric computational model in APLD language is compiled in the attached sheet of software MS Excel after entering input values. After solving in software ANSYS 14.5 are results imported into MS Excel sheet for further post processing.
Determination of elastic modulus of thin layer - numerical study of microcompressive test and the bulge test
Petráčková, Klára ; Pokorný, Pavel (referee) ; Náhlík, Luboš (advisor)
Determination of mechanical properties of very thin films is rather difficult task as all of currently using testing techniques have some weakness. This master’s thesis deals with microcompressive test and bulge test. Finite element simulations of the two methods were carried out in order to better understanding of experimental record. Microcompression combines the sample preparation with the use of focused ion beam (FIB) with a compression test carried out using nanoindenter. Cylindrical specimens (pillars) were prepared from Al film deposited on Si substrate using FIB. Experimentally measured data on pillars needs correction to obtain undistorted material properties of Al thin film. A necessary correction using FE modeling is suggested in the thesis. Second part of the work is focused on modeling of bulge test. Pressure is applied on freestanding SiNx film while deflection of the film is measured. Stress state in the film is biaxial making determination of mechanical properties of the film more complicated. The goal is to present how to model the whole problem. In addition, preparation of the specimens was simulated to estimate residual stress in the film. The paper contributes to a better characterization of very thin surface layers and determination of their mechanical properties.
Biomechanical studies carpometacarpal (CMC) joint thumb
Podsedník, Karel ; Marcián, Petr (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master thesis deals with stress-strain analysis of carpometacarpal (CMC) thumb joint. It is a preliminary study, which was not analysed on BUT Mechanical and biomechanical institute yet. There is a comparative stress-strain analysis of CMC with applied total endoprosthesis and physiological condition. The model of geometry was created based on CT images and processed with using software Catia and Solidworks. The problem was solved in numerical FEM (finite element method) in software Ansys 13.0
Biomechanical study of the upper limb wrist
Kouřil, Jan ; Marcián, Petr (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master´s thesis is focused on biomechanical study of wrist. There is a literature search on this theme in the beginning of this work. The thesis is described in detail anatomy of bones in the wrist. Subsequent the stress-strain analysis of physiological wrist is implemented in a neutral position. The model of geometry of wrist is created on base of CT data. To create calculation model and the solution is implemented in the computer system ANSYS Workbench.
Analysing of the design of the opening mechanism for the floor hatch
Metelka, Jiří ; Houfek, Martin (referee) ; Fuis, Vladimír (advisor)
In a family house not far from Brno, there is an entryway hole for getting into the space under the floor. The hole is covered by a high weight concrete hatch. For easier manipulation with the hatch an opening mechanism was designed and manufactured. This mechanism had been installed under the hatch and nowadays it works well. This master’s thesis deals with description of main components of the mechanism and their function. Load analysis and stress-strain analysis are the major part of this thesis. At the end of this work the analysis results are commented and some suggestions for further research are proposed.
Stress-strain Analysis of Diesel Particulate Filter Support on Tractor
Ježek, Přemysl ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is to carry out stress-strain analysis of diesel particulate filter support on tractor. So it describes sequence of steps for the analysis model, such as geometry description, mesh generation, applied forces definition and others. Result of the analysis is assessed in terms of strength and improvement was proposed.
Stress-strain analysis of aortic aneurysms
Man, Vojtěch ; Janíček, Přemysl (referee) ; Burša, Jiří (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on stress-strain analysis abdominal aortic aneurysm using ANSYS software. The model of abdominal aortic aneurysm are based on CT scans of five specific patients. The branching arteries are included to the model and one goal of this thesis is decision about their influence of the wall stress. In this thesis was used a hyperelastic materiál model, which is based on mechanical tests done on human arterial samples.
Topological-geometric design and stress-strain analysis of the railroad wheel disc shape for different operating conditions on the grounds of LEFM
Brabenec, Ladislav ; Janíček, Přemysl (referee) ; Navrátil, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the behaviour of a cracked rail wheel. The aim was to perform the strain analysis of intact wheel as well as the fracture analysis of the primary direct cracked wheel. Solution includes an analysis of operating conditions, assessment of the substantiality of articular components of load, stiffness of the wheel, a comprehensive analysis of fracture of the selected railway wheel profile and optimization of the wheel shape depending on the matching fracture properties.
Analysis of mechanical behaviour of synchronous generator
Donát, Martin ; Hadaš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Dušek, Daniel (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with analysis of mechanical behaviour of the synchronous generator and assessment of the possibility of reducing the mass of the frame of the generator. The aims of this work were: to perform the stress-strain analysis and modal analysis of the required model of the synchronous generator, to assessment influence of single part of the frame of the generator over its stiffness and design construction modification of the frame of the generator, which reduce its mass.
Stress - strain analysis and creep assessment of the thick-walled tubular structures.
Zouhar, Michal ; Petruška, Jindřich (referee) ; Hlavoň, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the stress-strain analysis of thick-walled pipe parts. The dimension series (characterized by the D/d ratio) of three components are solved, then a direct tube, a torus with constant wall thickness (arcus) and a torus with variable wall thickness (bend). At first, the internal pressure amount, when a fully plastic state for these components is created, is solved. The amount of the limit pressure is determined analytically, numerically and by appropriate normative relations. The results and stress diagrams of individual solutions are mutually compared. Furthermore, these components are solved in the creep and are exposed to the maximum allowable normative internal pressure for 200,000 hours according to the standard – the operating time of components. The place of the maximum equivalent creep strain and the place of the maximum equivalent stress is examined. In these places the principal stresses are depicted depending on the D/d ratio. The results and stress diagrams of individual dimension series are mutually compared. From the available literary sources the condition of the limit state reach is chosen, according to which the evaluation of the limit state reach for individual components is carried out.
