Zhodnocení přirozené obnovy v lese v převodu na střední les na majetku městských lesů Moravský Krumlov

This thesis deals with the natural regeneration of sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl) in forest in conversion to the coppice with standards. The measurement was carried out on the property of urban forest Moravský Krumlov. There were 15 sample plots. Data were collected after the growing season 2014 in February 2015. Total number of individuals of natural regeneration, height, increment and damage of oak seedlings were measured. The aim was to assess the condition of natural regeneration due to forest type complex, harvest intensity and fencing. The results show that the best option for natural regeneration is forest type complex 2H where the growth and the condition of the seedlings are the best.
Stanovení potenciální produkční příbuznosti jednotek typologického mapování jako základu tvorby hospodářských souborů

The work is focused on finding production affinity of selected typological units, which are the basis for creating management stand sets. The work is based on data processing taken from repeatedly performed statistical operational inventory at the School Forest Enterprise Masarykův les Křtiny - forestry section Borky. In the course of work, three tree species were examined: beech (Fagus sylvatica), Norway spruce (Picea abies) and larch (Larix decidua). On the basis of examination during the height growth and parameters of height growth functions of the the given trees, the significantly similar groups by production affinity were created, separately for each tree species. The resulting groups were compared with the standard system of classification of forest types group to the target management groups. It was created 30 significantly similar groups. None of the groups formed within the three evaluated groups of tree species does not exceed 60% compliance with any management target file.

This thesis deals with the rating of sprouting capacity on the research areas specified for the transformation to middle forest in the urban forest Moravský Krumlov. The areas were founded in 2008. It is mostly a description of layer development of coppice forest during several years of measurements and a comparison related to age, set of forest types and intervention intensity. An important attribute is a sprouts growth especially during a few years of measurement. The extensive damages were caused by relatively high pressure of the game. It has been found out the sprouts growth of oak /Quercus petraea/ has hundred per cent success of sprouting capacity on the set of forest types 2S /fresh beech forest/. However, the sprouts have vegetated also on other stands / the set of forest types/ , but due to the co- influence above mentioned factors the success was lower. Futhermore, the sprouts growth according to various variants /fenced, development phase, age, set of forest types, intervention intensity and number of seedlings per hectare/ was rated. In the first part, it was being found out if statistically significant differences existed among the individual levels /by sprouts growth, height icrement of sprouts/. In the other part, the levels of variants that led to the higher sprouts growth, were searching. And the result has been reached none of elected levels led to the making of maximum sprouts growth. However, the stated results can serve as a source for growing and forest regeneration of lower coppice storeys in process of stand conversion to coppice-with standards.

The aim of the thesis was to analyze and subsequent analysis of forest regeneration for the period 2003 - 2012 at the Training Forest Enterprise Masaryk Forest Křtiny. The bases for the analysis were the data from forest management records. Based on the data obtained there was made a comparison between natural and artificial regeneration of forest, it was compared to the proportion of first and repeated reforestation. Thesis also analyzes the recovery in relation to stand conditions and trees.
Characterization of soil units within the forest site complexes in ČLA Trutnov

The objective of this master thesis is the evaluation of the most frequent forest soil types in forest district of the Czech Forestry Academy (ČLA) Trutnov. The ČLA forest district covers area 670,41 ha. Soil survey and phytocenose analysis was performed on eight most frequent forest site complexes (FSCs) within the district. This work is focused on the phytocenose analysis in the particular FSCs, soil types determination physical and chemical soil properties on the particular FSCs. Additionlly conditions and possible differencies between coniferous and deciduous stands were investigated on three forest site complexes. According to the results of measurement when evaluating the relationship between the forest and soil type it shows that in given natural conditions of the forest district of the Czech Forestry Academy Trutnov there are FSCs corresponding with the given conditions on the forest grounds. Particular FSCs occur in the direct dependence on natural conditions and their soil profiles correspond with pedogenesis on the particular sites. The hypothesis was confirmed, that a long term vegetation influence characterized by FSCs has substantially influence over soil environment and the other way round. The interaction between the phytocenose and soil environment was found on all monitored sites. Different fytocenosis composition of broadleve and coniferours forest stands influences the chemical and physical properties, humus forms and some of the morphological properties of soil profiles with different intensity in all three detailly studied FSCs. However, this influence was less considerable, when compared with assumptions.
Srovnání stavby a vybraných vlastností dřeva douglasky tisolisté z různých stanovišť

The aim of this thesis was to analyse the macroscopic structure of the wood of Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) and determine selected physical and mechanical properties with an emphasis on the comparison of juvenile and mature wood zones. Additionally, the structure and selected properties of the wood from sites varying in the forest types (3K, 3B, 3A) were compared. Five sample trees were sampled in each of the three selected sites. Their rootstock parts were then worked into test specimens with dimensions of 20 x 20 x 30 mm a 20 x 20 x 300 mm. The selected wood properties were the density at moisture content of 0% and 12%, basic density, the total shrinkage in all three basic directions, the total volumetric shrinkage, strength in compression parallel to the grain, bending strength, and the modulus of elasticity in bending. Additionally, a tree-ring analysis was conducted. It was found out that the juvenile wood has wider rings, a lower proportion of earlywood and all the observed properties showed lower values. The properties determined and the structure of the wood from the selected groups of forest types is statistically significantly different in most cases. From the forestry perspective, the resulting material characteristics of wood of Douglas fir are greatly dependent on the site; however, the precise location of the sample within the stem (centre or periphery) has a more pronounced effect on the properties.
Analýza přirozené obnovy modřínu opadavého v oblasti centrálních Brd

The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the state and conditions of the initial phase of the natural regeneration of the European larch. There were nine forest stand groups of 0.06 -- 0.2 ha (small regeneration components) on three sites (FTG 5P, 5K 5N). The density of the growths, height, height gain, age, and damage were measured in the field. Using hemispheric "Fisheye" photography, four photic parameters were observed: openness, direct site factor, indirect s.f. a total s.f. According to the analysis, European larch naturally regenerates on the selected sites successfully. The natural regeneration grows out successfully and shows high density even on sites with low light conditions, while the insolation demands, mainly on the indirect insolation, are gradually increasing at the age of 2--4 years. On the opposite, high level of insolation can have negative influence on the density and further grow out of the natural regeneration on exposed or acidic sites with possible short -- term drought.

Author: Karel Hrabovský Title: Weevils forest ecosystems of the Beskydy The aim of this thesis was to determine the significance of the family Curculionidae as a bioindicator and evaluate the possibility of its use in the classification system of forest typology. in the years 2007-2010 in the area of Moravskoslezské-Beskydy (massif of Smrk, Kněhyně and the valley of the Čeladenky creek in Podolánky) the fauna of the family Curculionidae in 38 stands of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) and beech (Fagus sylvatica L .) was observed using pitfall traps. A correlation between the occurence of certain species of the family Curculionidae and the altitudinal vegetation zones (LVS) and edaphic category (EK). The sets of forest types (SLT) seem to be units too specific, we did not yet succed to prove a correlation with the family Curculionidae in these.
