The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce types of punishments in the Czech Republic and the United States of America. It is mainly focused on specific punishments. Marginally, the thesis is concerned with the specific aspects of Czech and American law, sources of law and the general principles of imposing a sentence. In the conclusion, a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of particular systems is offered.
The death penalty

The death penalty is very controversial topic in contemporary society that is discussed at both national and international level. The aim of my thesis is to describe this topic from various perspectives. The first part is dedicated to theoretical analysis of this issue, the definition of punishment, definition of the death penalty, its function and purpose. This section also describes the practice of the death penalty in the past and present. Another area deals with the legislative anchoring based on international instruments or national laws. The practical part is devoted to the topic of the death penalty in terms of the coherence of several aspects, especially the social, cultural and religious influence. The essence of this section is to demonstrate the interconnectedness of these effects in relation to the number of death sentences in individual countries or regions.
Kinds of punishments according to the Criminal Code

The theme of this bachelor thesis is incorporated into the field of criminal law. The main goal is to describe the issue of punishments or the kinds of punishments under the Criminal Code. There is an explanation of basic concepts of this area, namely crime, facts of the crime and its signs in the first part. The next part of thesis deals with the basic provisions relating to punishments and the general principles for imposition of punishments. Subsequently, the work contains a list of punishments. The most important part of the work is determined especially for selected kinds of punishments which are discussed more detailed. The methodology of this thesis is mainly descriptive.
Types of sentences under the Criminal Code

This thesis deals with sentencing for criminals. The first two chapters deal with crime and the offender, the third chapter focuses on the principles of sentencing, and the fourth one characterizes the penalties and highlights problems that appear while some of them are sentenced. The fifth chapter gives basic statistics of punishment and the last one occasionally works on protective measures.

Using of Disciplinary Means at the Second Stage of Basic Education

Thesis entitled ?Using of Disciplinary Means at the Second Stage of Basic Education? set itself a task to find out how teachers react to indiscipline of their pupils at the second stage of basic education during the lessons of Czech. In the empirical part there will be used the method of uninvolved observation and an interview with teachers. There will also serve a questionnaire for pupils to fill in the information and to look at the problems from more points of view. The theoretical part will offer a professional base for the research in practise. At first there will be given a definition of the term discipline by different authors, then there will be named and described reasons for indiscipline and types of indiscipline, then the longest chapter about disciplinary means will follow, and the last two chapters will be interested in prevention of indiscipline and mutual communication between the teacher and his/her pupils.
Communication with a pre-school age child in the family

My bachelor's thesis is focused on the meaning of communication with a preeschool child in the family. It finds if parents use effective or ineffective communication methods. In the theoretical part I deal with communication in general, especially verbal and nonverbal communication. Next it is locked on efficient communication and its methods. Attention is paid to family, their raising styles, using of punishments and rewards. The practical part deals with a research investigation, exactly on the meaning of communication with the child given by parents and which methods they use. After I explore how is communication with parents perceived by children and whether there are some differences between the way of perception of own speech by parents and how it is perceipted by children. I used questioning, dialogue and observation.
Eward and punishment in the life of a preschool child

The Bachelor paper examines the issue of educational tools. Rewards and punishments, though used most frequently, belong also to those tools whose merits and demerits are extensively discussed. The theoretical section offers different opinions and angles of view together with a range of possible approaches to upbringing and education. The section explores both the traditional and the contemporary methods available to bring children up in families and at infant schools. Moreover, this section of the paper presents a psychological insight into the children's perception and the manner in which they embrace moral values. The practical section processes and evaluates the results of research conducted in families and at four infant schools with reliance on a questionnaire. Additional bits of information were obtained by interviewing the children.
Religious life in Třešť in the second half of the 19 th century and the first half of the 20 th century. Congregation of the Poor School Sisters of Notre Dame and its activity in Třešť

The thesis depicts life of the parish in Třešť in the second half of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century. The emphasis is placed on nuns of the Congregation of the Poor School Sisters de Notre Dame who worked in Třešť from 1885 till 1946. This thesis is further focused on pastors from Třešť and also on local churches and their economic background. Finally, there are also described changes in conditions of the parish, especially after 1918. To elaborate this thesis both sources of the Diocesan Archive of the Bishopric of Brno in Rajhrad and of the State District Archive Jihlava were perused. Documents provided by the Archive of the Congregation of the Poor School Sisters de Notre Dame in Hradec Králové also meant a valuable contribution to this thesis. The aim of the thesis is to disclose so far unknown or non-compiled history of the parish in Třešť.

The work is divided into chapters, the first chapter describes marginally terms mentioned above, the second chapter describes the different types of sentences, the third chapter provides an overview of statistics crimes.
