The women from the Czech Republic at the Bauhaus 1919 - 1933: Weimar - Dessau - Berlin

The given text, a part of more extensive work on the theme Czech and Slovak Students at the Bauhaus, was devoted a several women – artists from former Czechoslovakia. The women studied architecture, textile design and photography at the Bauhaus in 1919 to 1933 and they came from Czech, Slovak, German and German-Jewish background of the Czech Republic. Any art-historical work has not engaged in this theme yet. A lot of information go on extensive research into Czech and foreign archives.

Loos’s Raumplan as an English house turned upside down

Analyses the interiors of Vienna architect Adolf Loos and his work with space. Loos’s cascade-structured space resembles the interiors of English modernist houses. However, Loos does not measure the varied vertical clearance of his rooms from the floor – in the English way – but from the basic level of the ceiling.
