Modern Architecture and The Concept of Space

In this work student will deal with the concept of space in terms of philosophy, psychology and partly in the literature and especially in modern architecture, which became a living style of 20th century. Furthermore, student will deal with psycho-social terms of space and will point out why was the idea of functionalism, in its purely technical form, unsustainable.
Sculpture as Architecture of the Future

The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the creative expressions of sculpting and architecture, which are based on two fundamental and characteristic malleable ways: geometric form and organic form. It describes in detail some implementation of selected artists and shows on it the possibilities and methods (mainly artistic and functional) of the application of the above mentioned forms. These analyses then will help not only to compare the artistic work, but also are initial information to create an own original concept of the object, which is sculpturally implemented.
The Gates. Environmental Creation in the Landscape.

The submitted work deals with the topic of the gate. The theoretical part analyses this structural and cultural feature, particularly from its architectural point of view, and focuses on the origin of gateway, its evolution throughout the centuries, and on the description of the best known and most famous gates, both throughout the world and in the Czech Republic. In the thesis, the gate is characterised as a symbol with different meanings in various cultural contexts. The implementation of the author´s photographic project entitled ?The Gates to the Past? is further presented in the practical part of the work. The text also describes a brief essay on the relation of aesthetic education to the environmental artistic works and develops its potential for educational goals emphasizing humanistic objectives.
The Hotel Central in Pilsen

The bachelor´s thesis presents the circumstances of the building the Central Hotel Pilsen in the Square of the Republic. The text shows general development of architecture in the Czech and in Plzeň in the second half of the 20th century. This part is as well as the history of the origin house At the Gold Eagle important to present the basic context of the new building. The bachelor´s thesis describes the policy, architectural and media disputation and the description of the building. One part of the text presents the work of the architect Jaroslava Gloserová. Furthermore is this problematic compared with the contemporary affair of the House of Culture in Pilsen. The bachelor´s thesis is based on the sources put in the Pilsen archive, the National Heritage Institute in Pilsen, press and literature. The main aim of the bachelor´s thesis is to present the problematic of new building in the Square of the Republic in the general perspective.
The Bridges. Connection of Two Banks: Artistic Creation.

This thesis describes the motif connecting two sides of a few selected aspects are essential to the concept of integral theme. The theoretical part is devoted to symbolic and philosophical significance of the theme of the bridge, which is linked to a gradual work. It focuses on the genesis of the architecture of the bridge together with social and cultural background. Subsequently imaging theme deals with the bridge in the history of visual culture. Practical implemented using spatial concepts of subjective motive in terms of symbolism encoded in a simplified bridge construction, located in the illusionary space of emptiness, allowing mutual connection.
