Semi-intensive rearing of young breeding European grayling (Thymallus thymallus L.) using self-seeded insect.
SADLOŇ, Patrik
The aim of the experiment was to test the semi-intensive rearing of grayling (Thymallus thymallus) using technical equipment to lure flying insects. The experimental fish came from two sources and were reared in these localities: The Trout Farm ČRS Kaplice and The Experimental Fish Culture and Experimental Facility (ERPP) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters SBU in Vodňany. The rearing was carried out between the beginning of May and the end of October or half November 2014. Three concrete troughs were used in Kaplice. One for the control group and the other ones with technical elements installed to lure insects: one with a light source pointed to a plastic board placed under the water surface and the second with electric insect traps. In Vodňany, the fish were reared in two nurseries. One was used for the control group and the second was fitted with the combination of underwater light and insect traps. All groups were fed with commercially manufactured pellet feed. The fish were regularly measured (total length, body length, weight) and examined by a veterinarian. During the experiment, better growth in the trough with the lighted board was noticed in the first period of rearing in Kaplice. It was visually confirmed that the fish took the insects in the vicinity of the technical elements in both localities. The course of the experiment was later strongly influenced by the deteriorating health condition of the fish with the subsequent bad intake of feed in both localities especially between June and the end of September. In Kaplice, the inflow water quality became unstable and some predatory fish invaded the rearing trough. This led to high losses of the reared fish in both localities. In spite of some positive findings, the effect of the applied elements on grayling rearing in the selected objects has not been successfully proved.
The Effect of rearing and age at first calving on the performance and longevity of Holstein dairy cattle
SMRČINA, Tomáš
This thesis examines the influence of the level of rearing and age at first calving on performance and longevity of Holstein dairy cattle in the company ZD Krásná Hora nad Vltavou C. The quantity of milk per kg in the first lactation, functional longevity in kg of milk, functional longevity and longevity in days belong among the indicators observed by cows of Holstein cattle. The results of the monitored herds can be concluded that extension of age at first calving is statistically significant on the amount of milk in the first lactation, on functional longevity in kg of milk, on functional longevity and longevity in days. In contrast, no significant influence of the weight was elicited by observed indicators. The highest longevity in the monitored herd was achieved by the cows that were excluded for a difficult birth and also achieved the highest milk yield for functional longevity in kg milk and observation for the highest average in the number of lactations for life.
The artificial stripping and semi-intensive breeding of the grayling (Thymallus thymallus L.)
VÝBOŠŤOK, Michal
The aim of the experiment was to verify the possibility of semi-intensive production of three month old European grayling (Thymallus thymallus) stocks for stocking into open waters. The grayling fry was stocked in small ponds in FROV JU experimental fish culture facility and trout farm Kaplice after the first feeding in shallow troughs. In ponds, the fry was fed by naturally occurring zooplankton with dry food addition. The highest level of survival was 32 %. Fish captured after 9 weeks of rearing in the pond (to 12.7.) were a mean weight of 2.7 g and mean total length of 70 mm. Preserving of hygiene, implementation of preventive therapeutic interventions and ensuring an adequate level of nutrition during firs feeding in the trough are the key factors of this method. The second requirement is thorough preparation and treatment of ponds used for rearing. The experiment also showed a wide tolerance of grayling fry to the physico-chemical parameters of water during the first year of life.
THE BIBLICAL BOOK OF PROVERBS AND DISCIPLINING CHILDREN
MACHULKOVÁ, Jana
ANNOTATION The work deals with the issues of discipling and discipline in the book of Proverbs in the Bible. It also deals with the issues of obedience, rearing and discipling children, how those were understood at the time when the book of Proverbs was written. Next, the work tries to answer the question whether and how much it is possible to successfully apply the discipline, punishment and the principles of discipline in the book of Proverbs in present day. At the end, the work deals with the kind of rearing presented in the book of Proverbs, it introduces Jan Amos Comenius´s point of view as well as the one of a contemporary author of books on education, Jan-Uwe Rogge.
Evaluation of sire rearing results of beef cattle breeds
STRNADOVÁ, Eva
During the work, results of ten sires of beef breeds had been observed in OPB Cunkov s.r.o. Over the years 2004 to 2007, 590 pieces of animals was evaluated. The highest number of all the evaluated sires was at the breed charolais (211 pieces), with average daily gain of 1883 grams, which was the highest daily gain from all the breeds evaluated. Of all the number of bulls included, 81,7% of them was included in breeding process and 18,3% of them was negative selected. Rearing house is an important means the other progress of beef cattle breeding.
