The nature of the work of professional athletes with a focus on football

Interní informace Abstract Title of thesis: The nature of the work of professional athletes with a focus on football This thesis deals with the issue of the status of professional athletes from the perspective of labour law with a detailed focus on professional athletes of collective sports, especially football players. The main question examined is whether the nature of the work of athletes in collective sports fulfils the characteristics of dependent work under the Labour Code or whether it is an independent activity. The first part of the thesis is theoretical and introduces the issues of sport and law. In the second part, the author examines the compatibility of sport and labour law and then discusses the position of the professional athlete from the perspective of the Czech legal system and the case law of the Supreme Administrative Court. The author concluded that professional athletes could act as employees or as self-employed persons and explained the advantages of these different statuses. On the issue of dependence, he concluded that the nature of the activity of a professional athlete in team sports fulfils such features, but that the Labour Code cannot be applied to these relationships because of some of its institutes, which the author described in his work. The bachelor thesis is focused on labor relations of self-employed employer. Major aim of this work is reducing of personnel costs of particular employer at the current number of employees. The topic is discussed in general terms in accordance with the applicable legislation in the theoretical part. The second part of this work is focused on the analysis of the expences related to labor costs of the selected employer. Several suggestions for optimizing personnel expences in order to find the best solution are listed in the third chapter.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of labor relations. It focuses on optimizing wage and personnel costs of the employer in connection with seasonal production, which is linked to the unequally structured need of employees in production during the calendar year. The bachelor thesis evaluates the current situation of the entrepreneur in the field of labor relations and based on the analysis proposed a solution usable for saving the wage and personal costs of the employer.

The bachelor´s thesis is focused on job-law relationships, specifically on system of employee rewarding for the selected employer. Target of the thesis is especially to optimize personal outlay of employer. Theoretical part is focused on clarification of relationships between employer and employees. Next part is devoted to the analysis of present state of rewarding of employee and questionnaire survey. Based on the analysis are suggested optimal solutions leading to economical and tax handiness.

The objective of the bachelor thesis is to propose a solution to the problem, which is related to the lack of employees. More precisely, to optimize the number of employees and the associated payroll costs. On the basis of the analytical part, measures to optimize the number of employees and optimize wage costs will be proposed to the employers.

The Bachelor’s thesis deals with the issues of labour-law relations, above all their establishment. The aim of the paper is to propose a solution to the problem concerning lack of applicants for the work positions offered, or rather optimization of the number of employees working for an employer in relation to the optimization of labour costs. Based on the results of a conducted analysis and survey, the employer is recommended taking measures which would optimize the number of employees as well as the labour costs.
