Small aerodynamic facility with variable gas density
Mazur, Oton ; Řehák, Vratislav
The facility devoted for the investigation of transport phenomena in flow of gases and gas mixtures at various Reynolds and Mach numers and molar concentrations is described. This facility may also be used for caligration of pneumatic and hot-wire/fil robes as well as flowmeters.
Intermittency analysis in a jet-cross-flow interactions
Uruba, Václav ; Mazur, Oton ; Jonáš, Pavel
The intermittency analysis of the jet in cross-flow mixing zone is presented. Both jet in the nozzle orifice and inciming cross-flow were low-turbulent. The modified TERA method was adopted to distinguish laminar-turbulent local nature of the signal.
On the intermittent nature of the flow structure at by-pass transition of a flat plate boundary layer
Jonáš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
The aim of the study is to add to the understanding and description of by-pass transition through precise measurement of the flow parameters.
Circuit resistance modeling in failing heart rotary pump support
Musil, Jan ; Pražák, Josef ; Leitermann, D.
The stepwise resistance increase caused by the throttle valve usage in the mock-line circuit comprising the pulsating ventricle in failing heart modus and supported by rotary pump set up in parallel was studied. It appears thus important to regulate support system producing a continuous type of flow to such a regime not allowing the pulsating flow of the failing heart to disappear and preventing the mean systemic pressure value before substantial increase.
Dynamics of permanent magnetic bearing
Půst, Ladislav
The basic analysis of radial bearings properties including nonlinear characteristics are presented. The mathematical models of vertical and horizontal rotors supported by permanent magnetic bearings are derived. Splitting of resonance's due to the rotor weight and existence higher harmonics are mentioned as well.
Measurement of the vocal-fold vibration
Horáček, Jaromír ; Švec, J. G. ; Veselý, Jan ; Vilkman, E. ; Klepáček, I.
The study presents the measurement set-up and selected results of experimental investigation of various dynamics and phonation characteristics of human vocal folds. The experiments performed with excised larynges were focused mainly on study of non-li or vibration effects and on creation of plaster castings of the larynx in a defined fixed phonation position.
Frequency response functions modelling of the human skull with simulation of brain tissue influence
Pešek, Luděk ; Horáček, Jaromír ; Hendrych, Pavel
The frequency dependent transfer functions between various anatomically important points on the skull are modelled using the previously developed finite element (FE) models of the human skull. The influence of the brain tissue is taken into account and the results are compared with the original data obtained by the experimental modal analysis where the effects of soft tissues were simulated by an especially prepared gel.
Global view on dynamics of impact oscillator
Peterka, František
Impact oscillator is the simplest mechanical system with one degree of freedom, the periodically excited mass of which can impact on the stop. The aim of this paper is to explain the dynamics of the system, when the stiffness of the stop changes from** to infinity. It corresponds to the transition from the linear system into strongly nonlinear system with rigid impact.
Dynamics of oscillator with piecewise linear model of soft impacts
Peterka, František ; Tondl, Aleš
The aim of this contribution is to present a more detail explanation of different types of motion of the oscillator with soft impacts using regions of existence and stability, phase trajectories and time series of impact motions. The explanation is exteded into lower and negative values of static clearance. Negative clearance corresponds to a static prestress of vibrating mass to the stop.
The effects of mass transfer in Rayleigh-Plesset bubble dynamics and cavitation modeling in a convergent-divergent nozzle
Zima, Patrik ; Maršík, František
The paper studies the relative importance of the mass transfer term in the modified R-P equation and proposes an experimental cavitation modeling design based on a convergent-divergent nozzle.
