Smolka, J. : Group and Community Methods in the Residential Institute The aim of the thesis is the evaluation of the re-educational programme for adolescent boys with ADHD who are placed in residential care by the court. The thesis provides a detailed description of the re-educational programme TAAN and its methodological approach called social skills training. The author focuses on a theoretical models of the programme and methods used for social skills practice, such as group and community methods, experiential education and group therapy. The TAAN programme has four phases and lasts one school year. The important part of the thesis clarifies the research methodology and phenomenological thought process which led the author to use the method of realistic evaluation. The effectiveness of the TAAN re-educational programme is validated through the case study of the social group, observations and interviews. The adolescents achieved positive results in a self-control, cooperative behaviour and respect for their parents. Negative results were measured on emotional competence and a respect for the rules.
