Using the Unity game engine
Dundálek, Martin ; Lang, Stanislav (referee) ; Roupec, Jan (advisor)
In this bachelor's thesis, the concept of a game engine will be discussed, a brief history of game engines will be described and the reader will be introduced to game engines used by companies developing video games that are not available to the public ("in-house" engines). In the second part of the work, a program solution to the mechanics of the game will be written, an introduction and a brief description of the 3D modeling program Blender, which the author used to create models for the game, an introduction and a brief description of the environment of the Unity engine itself, and the conclusion will deal with the Heaven Square Station game created by the author.
System for semi-automatic documentation of computer networks
Švik, Ondřej ; Heriban, Pavel (referee) ; Roupec, Jan (advisor)
This thesis addresses the issue of semi-automatic documentation of computer networks. The main objective is the development of an application that streamlines and facilitates the management of network devices and their documentation. The thesis includes an analysis of current commercial and open-source network management solutions. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts of computer networks, their topologies, and network protocols, particularly the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). The application is designed for use in the faculty network, with a chapter in the theoretical part dedicated to describing this network. The practical part focuses on the design and implementation of a web application using a client/server architecture, which enables automatic network mapping, device management, topology visualization, and includes an interactive map of the faculty.
Automation of the home pool
Veselý, Vojtěch ; Heriban, Pavel (referee) ; Roupec, Jan (advisor)
The Czech Republic is one of the world's pool powerhouses. Today, swimming pools are an integral part of every family home in the village and in the town. Water filtration and heating and their operation are also related to them. This work is focused on the possibilities of efficiency and automating the operation of these devices and the realization of a control unit prototype and its testing.
Weather stations for outlying locations
Babovák, Adam ; Roupec, Jan (referee) ; Heriban, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the implementation of a weather station for remote locations using an Arduino Nano microcontroller and sensors for measuring temperature, pressure, humidity, precipitation, and wind speed and direction. Additionally, it focuses on the consumption of components and on providing power supply using solar panel and battery. The research part of the thesis focuses on the description of the measurement techniques in meteorology, on the issue of wireless communication in remote locations, and on the research of suitable components and their characterization.
Web application for waste containers placement planning
Vidlička, Adam ; Roupec, Jan (referee) ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis is to create a web application that will serve as a tool for creation and management of municipal waste collection infrastructure. Computational functions developed at the Institute of Process Engineering will be utilized for more optimal creation of the waste collection infrastructure. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the zoom in on waste management in the Czech Republic, the motivation behind developing the web application, and the technologies used during its development. The practical part of the thesis describes the creation of the basic concept of the web application and provides subsequent descriptions of its individual components.
Application for automated rating of the media being played
Volf, Vojtěch ; Heriban, Pavel (referee) ; Roupec, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes the development of the MelodyMetrics Android application, which aims to evaluate user's media listening habits based on critical rating downloaded from the web. The app is developed in Kotlin using Jetpack Compose library, it records the music played on user's device, downloads its rating from the web and provides statistics on the quality of their music selection. The work provides a comprehensive overview of the modern Android development process and describes the technologies used. The source code and installation package are published on GitHub.
Information and promotion portal of the Institute of Automation and Computer Science
Kozák, Roman ; Heriban, Pavel (referee) ; Roupec, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis describes the design and implementation of the new information and promotion portal of Institute of Automation and Computer Science, which will provide information for current students, prospective students and the general public. It will also include a content management system.
Slit flow rheometer for magnetic and non-magnetic fluids
Železník, Tomáš ; Vimmr, Jan (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
In this thesis was designed, manufactured and tested the fourth evolution of a slit-flow rheometer with another necessary parts, eg. rheometer`s holder, drive frame and important jig tools. The rheometer is able to measure rheological properties of magnetic and non-magnetic fluids at very high shear rates, which commercial rheometers can not reach. It is designed for 200 bar pressure and maximum load 15 kN. The construction of the slit-flow rheometer with it`s holder and drive frame improves user friendliness, accelerates change of the fluid sample and expands research opportunities thanks to a big space for additional adjustments. It is possible to use different length of the slit and thanks to a changeable inserts it is possible to change parameters of the slit (roughness of the walls, wall material, thickness of the slit). A part of this thesis was focused on illation of necessary equations for planning calibration measurements. Aim of these measurements is to obtain minor pressure losses dependence on Reynolds number for specific slit.
Chess preparation optimization
Walica, Roman ; Roupec, Jan (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This work is focused on the preparation for the chess game, the issue of Elo rating system and optimization of the problem associated with the preparation for the chess tournament. You can find here how to obtain and modify appropriate information about potential opponents behind the chessboard. Result of this work is an optimization model which, if you enter relevant data, calculates how much time to spend on preparations for chess variants.
Efficient Implementation of Advanced Optimization Algorithms
Talpa, Jaroslav ; Roupec, Jan (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
